non conference schedule is already brutal.

Emerald Coast Classic (Illinois, Oregon, Florida)
Iowa
Big East challenge
SEC challenge
Oregon State
Whoever we play in the Chicago Classic
I’m guessing the rest will be “buy” games.

It wouldn’t be easy even with a good team, let alone the team we put on the court next year.

Yeah there really aren't a lot of open dates for scheduling. The schedule will always likely be about as tough as it was last year unless we get out of some contracts.

Wouldn't be surprised if non-con gets canceled due to the virus, so the 5 win prediction might be pretty close

Maybe there is a force majeure clause with Steve's contract, in the event of a pandemic, any buyout payment is forfeited.

Cuz regardless of what happens next year, ISU probably will not be an position to buy him out

So all you can do is hope he keeps casting out lines and landing a couple of bodies to fill out the roster
From what I've seen his buyout is 50% of his remaining contract. So it goes down a little more than $1MM/year? That doesn't seem like a big hurdle to clear unless you're willing to keep him until the contract runs out.

Believe it's a difference of $1.2 million. $5.1 million after 2021 and $3.9 million after 2022.

Ya not seeing a lot of Ws in conference

I think they can beat the bottom teams like TCU, KSU OU and OSU at home. But after that I don't know. KU, Baylor, WVU, and Tech will all be good and Texas will be a tournament team.

It always comes after the poor result, not before. For now I'll be told that I don't know what next year will be like and that I'm just being needlessly negative.

I’m the biggest excuse maker in the world but I know he’s gone next year if we aren’t better (assuming we have the money).

what I find annoying is that people are determined to be miserable. They want him fired but ***** when we don’t get transfers. YOU SHOULD WANT US TO NOT GET ANY TRANSFERS. it would speed things up.

and people that won’t even let next years team have a chance. They will probably suck but worrying about it now does no one any good.

How many times do we say Texas will be a good team and how many times are they actually?

I think most of us stopped falling for that one (with both basketball and football, for that matter) approximately five years ago. Texas is always mediocre.

I'm sorry guys. It really was looking great yesterday morning. A strange delay, and now it's looking like it's going to be cincy. I apologize. I was just sharing what my source has. He was confident, but recruiting is fickle and it's looking like the Bearcats are going to pull a rabbit out of the hat. Frustrating.

It's okay. We appreciate the news nonetheless. Anybody who knows anything about this is going to know that things can change quickly.
