DeJulius Thread: What I'm hearing

Walker (going to be forced to start)
Bolton
Jackson
Johnson
Young

That’s Literally one of the worst starting lineups in Iowa State history.

I don’t think we’ll have as tough of a non conference schedule though either. We will win more games next year. I’m willing to bet that and I’m as down on Cyclone Hoops right now as anyone.
Well if there is not crowds how do you pay these schools to come play? The SWAC or MEAC schools

Hoops season will be what 18 conference games, maybe?
ISU might end up playing bus trip games like Nebraska, Creighton, Drake, Iowa, UNI. Play the Kansas Schools, Mizzou, Minnesota...

But next years schedule on paper now probably is not what they actually play.

Can we at least maybe save the meltdown until we know for sure we aren't getting him? He's said nothing but good things about us. If he does pick Cincinnati it will only be because it's closer to home. Still trying to stay in contact and show him what he has to come by coming here.
Agree. CW hasn’t been close to right on any of these guys and a day ago said he felt good about this one. I’ve said it before, but there are a minimum of 5 guys on this board MUCH better connected than Chris. And more with regard to football.

Hard to stop a meltdown that started months ago.

Cincy is an under 4 hour drive to Detroit, while Ames is just under 9 hours. Not saying that's the sole reason, but it's not shocking that during these times, proximity is taken heavily into consideration.

Cincinnati is sneakily a nice city, too --

I would put it ahead of Columbus and *way* ahead of Cleveland or Detroit.

I have little patience for the "can we wait to have a meltdown" statements because the goalposts are constantly being moved. After we finish in the bottom half of the league next year they'll move them again and excuse the poor state of the program because "it was always going to be a rebuilding year". I'm sick of being told I'm a bad fan just because I'm willing to call a spade a spade.

Iowa City is way ahead of Cleveland or Detroit, so thats not saying much.

I have not seen one person in any of these threads say that excuses should be made for next year, rather I've seen the opposite. I think the majority believe another 9 or 10 finish in the conference next year would and should be grounds for firing CSP.

non conference schedule is already brutal.

Emerald Coast Classic (Illinois, Oregon, Florida)
Iowa
Big East challenge
SEC challenge
Oregon State
Whoever we play in the Chicago Classic
I’m guessing the rest will be “buy” games.

It wouldn’t be easy even with a good team, let alone the team we put on the court next year.

There are a couple exceptions including 90% guy.

It always comes after the poor result, not before. For now I'll be told that I don't know what next year will be like and that I'm just being needlessly negative.

7-10 wins should make for a fun year.

I'm frustrated be we have a great class coming in. That's reason for some hope. We need to land a grad transfer. If we don't it will be painful, and I will be running low on optimism. I just happen to like the coach and staff a lot. But if we have a 9 win season I won't like them nearly as much.
