Dear Matt Campbell,

He will fail cause programs like Penn state don’t wanna hear coach speak after losing to northwestern. Thanks Campbell for elevating us but also you could of done better in a new job brotha

Thanks for giving us some good years and big wins.

Thanks for preaching loyalty and trusting the process.

Thanks for selling us on the journey.

Thanks for selling us that you were loyal.

Thanks for selling us hope of climbing to the top.

Thanks for being just like all the other coaches.

You don’t give a **** about the fans, the community or the players.

You really do just care about a paycheck.

You are going to a school that should’ve been demolished for the worst scandal in the history of college football.

You are going to a school that that you were at least their 5th option.

You are going to make a lot of money. You might even make a lot of money, but you’ve sold your soul for something you have told us you aren’t.

I hope you lose every game you play, even against the hawks.

I hope you swim in your cash and drown in the expectations of Happy Valley because they don’t care about anything other than winning football games.

They didn’t care about a pervert hurting children for years.

You had a good thing here.

We will be fine.

You’ll be fine, but you are not the person you said you were, and I feel stupid for falling for your schtick.

I hope you fail. I hope for nothing good to happen to you in the football world.

At least the slimeballs like Kiffin are honest on being a *****.

Man, I thought you were different Matthew, but tonight proves I was fooled.

Good Riddance and **** you.
Thank you. I think we are going to take a major hit here, but I am disappointed that I fell for this too. All a pack of lies. “Be the best version of ourselves”. Right. All about the money. For everyone. Hoiberg, Sanderson, and now this guy. College sports is a cesspool of hypocrisy. This guy is just the most current example.

Parasocial weirdos be feasting tonight.

Sorry, you feel betrayed. WVU lost RROD and he was a born and raised coal miner's son who actually played his college football for WVU. Yeah it stings, but MC was loyal--beyond all measure to be honest. He turned down NFL jobs.

There were two jobs I told you years ago that he would not be able to turn down. Ohio State and Penn State. MC is not a midwestern guy. he is from Ohio, he played college football at Pitt, before transferring down to Mt. Union.

MC proved ISU can be more than middling. He beat Miami, Oregon....ISU will be fine. Have faith in Pollard. He will get a good coach to replace MC.

Wish MC luck. he got his dream job. Which one of you would turn down your dream job? It wasn't for the money. he went home.

With all due respect spare me the dream job slop. Heard that when we were the first school to give Houberg his break in coaching. His dream job until his real dream with the Bulls came up oh and then the Nebraska Cornhuskers. These people peddle propaganda for a living until someone comes along with more $$$. Funny how quickly dreams change.

I mean, they do change and a 'dream job' doesn't mean forever.

I appreciate Matt's time here, and thought he ran a good program. Not very many off-the-field issues and thought he was reasonably loyal. Lot's of talented players and quality people.

Also showed that you can have a winning program at Iowa State in modern times (which was apparent, but people generally don't have a long-term/holistic view of things).

I don't think he's the greatest coach ever, but he's solid and had success in large part due to the greater institutional support of the program. Looking forward to the future, and the schedule should be considerably easier with the new conference alignments. Sustained success should be expected with a decent coaching staff.

Matt has a chance to win a natty at PSU, given time and the boatload's of NIL $'s.
ZERO chance of winning a natty title here.

I get that people are pissed but I do not blame Campbell at all. You get into the profession to win at the highest level, and that is never going to happen at ISU, it could at Penn State. More money, better overall resources, better recruiting area. Much the same reason Cael left to go there. For many athletes in that region of the country, Penn State is a destination school, while we are nothing but a fail safe offer until a better one comes along for many of these kids.

You have to wonder how many people complaining about Campbell leaving would turn down a chance in their professional life would stay at where they currently are employed and not go to a overall better situation that will also double your salary, if the chance was offered.

He tells us its about being the most together team and turning guys into good employees, people, fathers etc.

I dont blame him for taking money. I blame him for acting like money wasnt his reason for coaching.

But it’s on me for falling for it.

Yikes dude, that's a little harsh. I will say though his " winning in the margins" shtick wore off pretty fast.

He'd say one thing, then we'd get to watch us take out our own punt returner to lose the Iowa game.
