For me the worst part about the change from/to DST is people who have no problem staying up several hours late for a random event anytime during the year ******** that changing their clocks an hour twice a year is going to kill them.

Yeah but on the flipside it would be nice not to have to go to work in the dark most of the year.I've been arguing just that in this thread for almost 5 years now haha
This is the way. Give me light later in the day, regardless of the time of yearAnd now mayhem

British Columbia adopts permanent daylight saving time; western Washington an hour behind November through March
British Columbia will be an hour ahead of the Pacific Northwest starting Nov. 1 as the province adopts permanent daylight saving time beginning March 8. When daylight saving time ends Sunday, Nov. 1,...www.yahoo.com
They are voting to make standard time permanent. So 4:30 sunrise in summer.Looks like it might get voted on this week by the house. Could have 8:41 am sunrises this winter.
Well, then just go to bed at 8:00pm when the sun goes down . . . . .They are voting to make standard time permanent. So 4:30 sunrise in summer.
I take this back. Looks like a new bill with permanent standard time was introduced but they one with permanent DST is the one getting passed out of rules committee. They are voting to make standard time permanent. So 4:30 sunrise in summer.
It’s hard to ever know cause the news sources don’t even know the difference. If so, yikes. That is really bad. They are voting to make standard time permanent. So 4:30 sunrise in summer.
Those organizations/people that need to adjust because of daylight variations for the year are free to independently do so by adjusting their hours. And I hope they do so as necessary especially when safety is the issue..I think permanent daylight savings is pretty bad, just not as bad as standard time year round.
If permanent daylight savings is passed I bet more schools and businesses move to 9 am starts/opening resulting in no extra daylight in the evening anyways.
The big loss through is a lot of people will actually get less daylight at night from March through October with adjusted business and school hours even though people are fooled into thinking they will get more. Those organizations/people that need to adjust because of daylight variations for the year are free to independently do so by adjusting their hours. And I hope they do so as necessary especially when safety is the issue..
The meaningless changing of clocks and the adjustment to sleep patterns for everyone being eliminated is the big gain.
