**** daylight savings

Got no dog in this fight any more since *I* sleep whenever I feel like it.

However, pets get disoriented when you mess with their circadian rhythms. And seven cats makes for a LOT of disorienting.
I have three pups and it always takes a few days to get them adjusted. I guess the bright side is that they've been getting up at 4 lately, which is enough time to take them out, give them a treat and go back to sleep for an hour on the couch with them. I just hope it's not at 3 for the next few days.

Their bodies tell them what time breakfast and dinner are...and if you've ever tried to sleep through a hungry cat...
Takes a few days for them to adjust. Like babies.

I hike my 4 dogs at 7am every weekday…which means they give me maybe 730 or 745 on weekends.

Last few days just slightly dark at beginning of hike.

I'm big-whiny with the clock change in the fall, but I don't like it all that much in spring, either, although it's less annoying.

If we're gonna keep doing it, my wish would be to push the change at least a few weeks later in each case.

Fall (to standard time): Sunday after Thanksgiving.
Spring (to daylight time): Last Sunday in April. I think that was vicinity of DST initially, then gradually shifted earlier.

DST...it's coming back soon.
I'm one who struggles (whines?) in the fall with clock-switch, but I don't like it all that much when DST starts, either. It's like "cheating" the gradual, natural increase in daylight after enduring winter.

Assuming we continue the twice-yearly exercise, if I were the decision-maker, it'd be:
Fall-back to standard time: Last Sunday in November (weekend after Thanksgiving)
Spring-ahead to DST: Last Sunday in April (which was the case until, I think, 1987)
