David Irving Chiefs Rookie Camp KC Star Article

It's nice to hear he's making the most of the opportunity, but it pisses me off. Why couldn't the guy just not have been a **** up in the first place so his career at ISU wasn't a learning experience.

With all the CFH **** going on right now, reading that a guy we had to kick off the team may make an NFL roster just adds to the bitterness of being an ISU fan right now.

And we had him at d tackle.

I still shake my head at how he was handled. (football wise not disciplinary).

I'm not sure what you guys mean. We needed tackles and we needed to have our best players on the field. He was so raw when he played for ISU - he didn't really come on as a football player until the second half of his last season here - but he was athletic enough that we needed him on the field even without being totally developed.

I get what you're saying, but it does stink we were so strapped for DTs that we had to put a guy there who obviously should've been a DE.

ISU doesn't have the best track record of sticking guys at the position that is best suited for their abilities (whatever the reason may be.) It seems almost every year a player goes to a position that makes me raise my eyebrows.

Honor before victory is taken very literally in our football program.

Speaking of changing positions, what are the odds we hear Lynns name called at WR this year. It seems more likely we'll have a couple injuries in the secondary and Lynn will end up back where he belongs.

I find it interesting that he watched all of the ISU games. It is good that he has been given a chance at the NFL, because he was very talented.

As far as the stop sign incident, it very well could be a case of being at the wrong place at the wrong time. Maybe someone did hand him the sign, but with all the smartphones out now you have to know that whatever you do in public is going to be captured.

Makes me wonder what ever happened to Rodney Coe now.

He was very raw. I was in Ft. Worth at the TCU game in 2012, and he blew a lot of people away. He had a lot of potential.

You can rob people on campus at gunpoint and still play while being a convicted felon, but don't you dare hold a stop sign in the air!!!
He was telling the other students to stop rioting, obviously. He deserved a helmet sticker or something instead of being thrown off the team. It's not his fault he had a clumsy girlfriend and is passionate about his fellow students safety.

If we could recruit better, then we would not have to do so much whack a mole or plug the dike.

I live in KC and heard about this. One hand I'm excited that he could contribute and help make plays on defense and special teams. On the other I'm holding out hope that he doesn't do something stupid.

The stop sign incident wasn't his first issue and to top it off it was during a very publicized incident. Look back at the threads I bet 95% of the people on here wanted him kicked off the team for it.
