Cyclones in the pros 2023-2024 (hoops)

I think he's hit his ceiling. He's a below average athlete by NBA standards for a 6'-2" to 6'-3" guy and never developed a great outside shot. He plays like he did at Iowa State. He can score in bunches at times and make some plays with his passing, but he's terribly inefficient, and is so-so defensively due to a lack of lateral quickness.
My apologies. Thought it was about Halliburton. Agree with your THT take!

THT, no longer starting, played 21 MIN in a 16-point win for the Jazz over Portland last night. The rest of his line: 4 PT, 2-5 FG, 0-1 3PT, 3 AST and 2 TO.

Monte still has not made his debut with Detroit (lower back issues, I believe).

As kind of a stat junky Tyrese just keeps rising. I remember in these annual threads his rookie year saying "hey guys, statistically he might be a top 50 player in the world". Then for a couple years "He might be a top 25 guy in the world"...then top ten...this year looking at wholistic production he's definitely top 10 and and likely top 5. Beyond doubt he's producing like a top 5 player on offense.

- Assists, assist per game, assists per 48min, assist %...he's #1 there however you want to slice it.
- #56 in usage...this is actually great for such an elite player to be this low, it effectively means he does it all while not taking bad shots
- #3 Value over replacement. Behind only Jokic and Steph
- #2 Box Plus/Minus, only behind Jokic
- #2 Win shares per 48 minutes, only behind Jokic
- #2 Win shares total, only behind Jokic
- #1 Offensive win shares (he's in the arguement for best offensive player on earth)
- #3 Player Efficiency Rating PER, behind only Jokic and Embiid

This type of play is justifying that contract quite easily.

I think a lot of us questioned THT’s actual ceiling early on, but the NBA guys kept saying it’s just about to show. It still hasn’t.
The ceiling is/has always been there, but floor and walls been shaky. NBA GMs stay trying to defy gravity. It catches up though.

Iowa state has an MVP candidate in the NBA and NFL. I never thought I would say that.

If TH could somehow get Indy in top 3 in the east he'll be in the discussion.

The voters for that reward always get fatigue of voting for same guy over and over even though Joker has had MVP stats 3 years straight.

Lindell Wigginton has been on the MIlwaukee bench this week, which means a better payday on those 2-way contracts, I believe. He got 2 minutes of mop-up time last night in the Bucks' win at Toronto.
