Opening up the checkbook for a wrestling coach salary is not substantial. He did it for track.

The hard feelings were more between Bono and KJ than Bono and ISU.
I like Bono just fine and his guys compete hard, but between his 3 years at UTC and his 4 years at SDSU he has only coached two all-americans. I'd feel a lot more comfortable if his teams had better NCAA results.
How many AAs did they have prior to his arrival?
How high did they finish nationally prior to his arrival?
Hearing that Bono might be the guy. Think its a good get....Has done a great job at SDSU and generated a ton of excitement for them. Having watched their dual with Iowa, almost all of his guys were ready to wrestle even if most were outmatched...and they wrestled hard. If he get transfer that to more talented guys, going to be some good times at ISU.
Dake or Taylor.

Bobby Douglas refused to do that when he left ASU, so I think it depends more on the coach. Sanderson and Brands are high profile examples of it though. The very real benefit of getting an already known coach is they typically bring their best wrestlers with them. Iowa and PSU both won multiple titles that way.
If I'm Pollard that's obviously not my only consideration, but it's in the top 5.
Obviously, none of us know exactly what happened there, so its not fair to say they told the kids to come. Could of very well been a case that they told the kids that they were leaving and the kids said they wanted to follow.Bobby Douglas refused to do that when he left ASU, so I think it depends more on the coach. David Taylor is on record as saying he was only going to wrestle for Cael Sanderson. I am not saying one way or the other, but in most sports you do participate for the coach. I think wrestling stresses that even more which is why wrestler will tend to follow their coach.Obviously, none of us know exactly what happened there, so its not fair to say they told the kids to come. Interesting that the DM article has a different list of guys. Some mentioned like Bono, Paulson, Perry and some I haven't heard much about like Pariano, Varner, Mitchell and Reader (as a head coach).
Then some I have heard talk about and not mentioned like Dresser and Hahn
Don't know if he is ready, but certainly think Reader could make an outstanding HC someday. If it's not for us, I assume it will be somewhere else soon. He is an outstanding young man. It's safe to assume that if Jon Reader returns as head coach, my wife will be getting season tickets, with or without me.
Do these places actually have reason to believe they are legit options, or are they likely just spit balling?Interesting that the DM article has a different list of guys.
