CPR Press Conference

Was that a big fu to Leath or what? Only gut he didn't thank...

What would he thank him for? All Leath has done is imply he was on the hot seat last year. He didn't upgrade facilities or really do anything to help him.

But I'm not much of a Leath fan so take all that FWIW.

i think there are some good things about leath, but I still don't trust him. Part of it is certainly because I don't trust the board of regents that hired him.

I I do like that he appears to be committed to athletics. And he's willing to spend money

So what is it you dont trust about him? Last I checked he is all about making ISU the premiere school in the state and building up its rep nationally. Sounds pretty awesome.

Will there still be a call in show tomorrow? I would prefer to call in to tell him thanks and wish him luck over sending a stinking e-mail.

It's a damn shame, couple less fumbles, couple made kicks, this wouldn't be happening.

The Messingham hire really hurt him a lot, never really recovered from that. That and the inability to recruit a lights out QB in time.

Great guy, damn shame.

I agree with this. Some bad luck this year, and few bad OC choices, and a probably a few bad character or injury problems in lat two years. I think next year with Rhoads would have been better, and will be with our new guyISU just couldn't sit on a year of uncertainty for recruiting and ticket sales. Too much risk.

If CPR got another head coaching gig in the next 5 years would we not have to pay out his whole salary?

if you got fired, would you want to deal with the cesspool of idiots that are call in show callers?!?

if I'm Paul, tomorrow night at that time, I'm cracking open a beer and saying to myself that there's one small positive about being fired this week vs next week.

I'm thinking Paul gets a DC job & kicks ***

But I'm getting the sinking feeling it may be in the Big XII...

Tough, tough watch. Damn

I blame Ohio State for stealing Tom Herman. Yes, let's always blame Ohio State! Those darn Buckwheats! They are always involved somewhere messing things up for us. It started with Jack Trice's coach being recruited back to Columbus.

i think he's slimy. Just a gut feeling from a few interactions. And it is probably unfair, but I really distrust the people who hired him, specifically Bruce rasteter. I really liked GG.

Rhoads is going to get a head coaching job somewhere, and it wouldn't surprise me if it was this year.

Do you know who hired Geoffrey?

It's a lump sum buyout. I can't imagine there's a clause for recuperation of paid out money.

In my continuing naivete, I half thought Rhoads was going to say "...and to help these kids get the coach they deserve, I am giving back half my buyout as next coach's signing bonus!"

But he signed the contract they offered...it's part of the business, not his fault he's has a nice parachute.

"Rhoads would owe Iowa State $1 million if he leaves for another Division I or NFL head coaching job."
