Congrats Coach Prohm!

Prohm is a good coach. Said all year I though he did as well as Hoiberg would have done given the circumstances.

Honestly..I don't think this team is a 4 seed with Fred this year given loss of Naz..Prohm forced this team to play D and rebound...Love Fred and all he did..but maybe it was just meant to be with Prohm.

I think you have to give him a ton of credit for sure. Lots of people said anybody could guide this team to success, but coaching definitely makes a difference. Syracuse & Boeheim this year is a good example, so he certainly is earning his money so far.

I have been as hard on Prohm as anyone here. I thought tonight was really outstanding thought. They are finally getting Georges the ball where he needs it, his rotations are getting better. Great job. The thing that is really good though, is he is learning a lot about how to coach in game, he is light years better than he was at the beginning of the year.

Interestingly enough, I think we are a bit better when we slow down some. Not play slow, but just slower and less heater shelter, Georges is so good in the half court, it just gives everyone a little time to breathe, get figured out where they need to be.

Great effort, great win.

Perhaps my bar is too low, but I was actually impressed when ISU got the ball back late in the game with a big lead, and just simply held onto the ball to get some time off the clock instead of throwing up a 3 when there was a chance to breathe.

Not sure if it was coaching or if the frontal lobes are just coming in, but it was nice to see.

I haven't really had a bad thing to say about CSP but are those wins really due to great coaching or being lucky enough to get to play two mid majors the 13 and the 12 seed to get into the sweet 16.

Coaching. Look how many teams have already been beaten by less talented in the tourney because they weren't ready to play. CSP has these guys locked in.

Last two games the game plan has been outstanding. For being the son a carpet salesman with no coaching pedigree, who literally started at the bottom (working as a volunteer coach and living in the basement of a dorm) and worked his butt off to get to where he is, I couldn't be happier for Coach Prohm.

Well, pretty sure a 4 seed plays a 13 seed every year, so that was going to happen... kind of like pointing out how North Carolina got to play a 16 their first game.

And just think of how ugly it may have gotten had ISU played Purdue today.
:pcool:

We've had enough bad luck in the NCAA tournament. I'm not going to hold it against them if we take advantage of a favorable bracket for once.

Better than playing Ohio State in Ohio, UK in Kentucky, MSU in Michigan, Niang getting hurt then taking on a hot Uconn team in their back yard.

Nice point. Much nicer to play the Sweet 16 in our own backyard.

B

i agree. I think Fred may have won 1 or 2 that prohm lost. But he would have lost 1 or 2 that prohm won.

I think the most impressive thing is we never lost a game we should have won.
