me too. The program hasn't been good of late, but this thing has the potential to really set them back for a long time. I'm sure the spin in Knoxville will put the blame squarely on everyone but them, but the rest of the country has seen it for what it is, and maybe a few of the Vols will come to realize that they have been stepping on their dicks.

An FCS coach? Vol Nation would revolt yet again. The Tennessee administration is between a rock and a hard place now. As soon as they capitulated to the fanbase and backed off Schiano they established that they wouldn't make an unpopular hire. And there's no chance the fans would accept a coach from an FCs or even G5 school.

Dave Doeren announces that he's turning them down to stay at NC State, and their fans are acting like it's a personal victory for them. It's not. Not being able to pull average coaches away from places that are supposedly inferior to their program is not a victory at all. It speaks volumes to how badly that situation is viewed right now.
