We do have the best kids though... It's just so obvious to me, our five star culture is part of the recruiting process. MC knows the value of passing on a highly rated knucklehead. Look at David Montgomery, great player...better man. This is ISU football, start with a quality kid and it's easier to make that kid into a quality player.

We should all look at this stat and look at what a hell of a job that the staff/players have done. Since 2016 247 rankings show Texas has had 5, 5 star recruits and 74, 4 star recruits. During this same time period ISU has had 4, 4 star recruits. ISU has won the last 2 games.

Pretty awesome.

Started strong and then fizzled out like a wet firecracker

Mensa decided to stick his head up his a$$ early.

Absolutely zero pressure on Purdy.

I remember saying when we hired Herman, "I hope by year 4 that we are neck and neck with Iowa State!" (My favorite.)

Success " is hard". (Presumably Herman's words.)

Texas has the 5th most talented roster as far as recruiting class. Iowa State on the hand has recruiting class of--

2017 52nd

2018 55th

2019 46th

2918 46th

This very old plaque was moved from the old Clyde Williams field to the players entrance tunnel. Coach Campbell is the personification of this plaque.

I can’t say how many times I walked past that plaque on a brown brick column at the entrance to the parking lot next to State Gym/the field where Clyde Williams once was, and wondered how long it would be before someone remembered it.

Glad to see someone finally caught on.

You guys sure he didn’t give him the Bielema treatment. “You suck and I enjoyed kicking your ass”

That neck and neck one is just amazing on so many levels.

I have “Honor Before Victory” tattooed on my body.

I remember in the CPR years, there was a small faction of vocal posters that hated the phrase and wanted the plaque removed. Saying it’s a stupid phrase and was the mindset of why we’d always be losers.

I hope by 2918, we are higher than 46th in recruiting.

Gotta be a recruiting violation. How could the kid not want to play for us after words from CMC?

These little things are part of the reason I get more and more sure that he won’t leave any time soon. There are so many other things he seems to REALLY care about as a coach more than money or fame.
Yeah, except he won’t have to worry about money at all after this season even if he stays. JP is going to sign him to a fat raise with an extension.
