He does this EVERY Game, and it is what I like most about CMC. He cares about the young men on both teams beyond the W-L.
I was also moved by how emotional Campbell was when the TV folks interviewed him immediately after the game. He wasn't emotional for himself, but for his players and coaches.
Campbell is the personification of all that's right about collegiate athletics and ISU couldn't ask for a better representative of our values. It's a perfect marriage which I hope lasts for decades.

People just don’t get that this dude is cut from a completely different cloth.
These little things are part of the reason I get more and more sure that he won’t leave any time soon. There are so many other things he seems to REALLY care about as a coach more than money or fame.
This is the same thing Bill Snyder would do. Bill Snyder is one of his idols and we all know how that turned out.

Because we definitely need a kicker that's going to miss and break our heart at the last second.
That was sarcasm for all you people who say how good he is.
It's all about his priorities and his goals, but I think there's something to be said for not only turning around a program, but staying and being the coach that defines that program.
MC can stay and have a legacy similar to Snyder, Fry, Beamer, Alvarez. We'll see.
This very old plaque was moved from the old Clyde Williams field to the players entrance tunnel. Coach Campbell is the personification of this plaque.
