Lets tackle this

Either young me or old me wouldn't matter, I'd still come out on the short end of the stick. Current me is more likely to need a Dr. afterwards.

Hansen then, he will hit me but not pick me up and drive me into the ground while landing on me.
See, I'm fairly certain of getting concussed by Orange.
I'm equally certain of a separated shoulder by Hansen, and then maybe concussed as well.

Well at least my deductible is already met but I feel the life insurance policy would come into play if Orange tackled me.

Deal with enough livestock, especially loading pigs, you get used to stuff running into and taking a hit, it’s the being picking up and body slammed that I’m not used to.

Ok, here's where I finally get to use physic 221.

Momentum is p = m * v
  • m = mass (in kg)
  • v = velocity (in m/s)
Big Citrus: 325 lbs * 0.453592 kg/lb ≈ 147 kg
Hanson: 225 lbs * 0.453592 kg/lb ≈ 102 kg

Now, let's calculate the momentum for each:
(velocities chosen from "chat-gpt")
  • Big Citrus:
    • p = 147 kg * 6 m/s = 882 kg*m/s
  • Hanson:
    • p = 102 kg * 10 m/s = 1020 kg*m/s
Because each are impacting at full speed, I'm going to say that impact time is basically the same (I could be wrong, but I don't know how to calculate what it might be). I used an impulse time of 0.1 seconds because I'm pretty sure that's roughly the time between me standing upright and me being flat on my back.

So the result, surprisingly is that Carson Hanson would actually produce more force ~10200 N versus Orange ~8820N

The problem is that I'm pretty sure each would then land on top of me. The extra hundred pounds of Big Citrus won't feel good.

Going to need the new CyTown McFarland Clinic to sponsor this. They'd be seeing a lot of patients one way or another after this.

If you aren't going to set arbitrary rules that don't apply to actually tackling someone in a football game, the correct answer is clearly trying to tackle Hansen, because you dive for the ankles and minimize full body contact. If you're a ball carrier against Big Citrus, you can't mitigate the impact the same way as you could if attempting to tackle Hansen.

If you're saying you basically have to stand there and let Hansen run you over at full clip, it's a considerably more difficult option.

How many NFL QB's have had their collarbones snapped getting crushed by 300lb DT's? I'll take my chances with hanson.

I think you have Dom as too slow. If Hansen runs a 4.4 you have dom at 7.3.

Tackling is as much about squat strength and hang clean strength as speed. Over 5 yards nobody is running at their full speed, and prior to collision there is some "wind up" to be able to deliver the blow. So there is a small slowdown before they reaccelerate to separate your thoracic spine.

Man I do miss these old school "Oklahoma Drills". One of my favorite parts of our High School FB practices.

Even though I'm a LB, I am running the ball at Big Citrus!!

I've met Carson before (he and my son graduated high school together) and I'll take my chances trying to tackle him. Not interested in getting leveled by Big Citrus. Plus, Carson is a really nice kid and he might go easy on me.

I stand firm, in the minority, that I want nothing to do with tackling Carson after watching that drive.
Did you see the defensive backs making business decisions on the screen to Proctor?
