Then Hansen for sureOld tackle drill, gotta stay between tackling dummies. Can juke a smidge but not a whole lot
Full speed 10 yards. We can’t move? Not really a tackle, more asking who we want to run us over while standing still.
Hansen then, he will hit me but not pick me up and drive me into the ground while landing on me.Full speed 10 yards.
See, I'm fairly certain of getting concussed by Orange.Hansen then, he will hit me but not pick me up and drive me into the ground while landing on me.
Deal with enough livestock, especially loading pigs, you get used to stuff running into and taking a hit, it’s the being picking up and body slammed that I’m not used to.See, I'm fairly certain of getting concussed by Orange.
I'm equally certain of a separated shoulder by Hansen, and then maybe concussed as well.
I think you have Dom as too slow. If Hansen runs a 4.4 you have dom at 7.3.Ok, here's where I finally get to use physic 221.
Momentum is p = m * v
Big Citrus: 325 lbs * 0.453592 kg/lb ≈ 147 kg
- m = mass (in kg)
- v = velocity (in m/s)
Hanson: 225 lbs * 0.453592 kg/lb ≈ 102 kg
Now, let's calculate the momentum for each:
(velocities chosen from "chat-gpt")
Because each are impacting at full speed, I'm going to say that impact time is basically the same (I could be wrong, but I don't know how to calculate what it might be). I used an impulse time of 0.1 seconds because I'm pretty sure that's roughly the time between me standing upright and me being flat on my back.
- Big Citrus:
- p = 147 kg * 6 m/s = 882 kg*m/s
- Hanson:
- p = 102 kg * 10 m/s = 1020 kg*m/s
So the result, surprisingly is that Carson Hanson would actually produce more force ~10200 N versus Orange ~8820N
The problem is that I'm pretty sure each would then land on top of me. The extra hundred pounds of Big Citrus won't feel good.
Tackling is as much about squat strength and hang clean strength as speed. Over 5 yards nobody is running at their full speed, and prior to collision there is some "wind up" to be able to deliver the blow. So there is a small slowdown before they reaccelerate to separate your thoracic spine.I think you have Dom as too slow. If Hansen runs a 4.4 you have dom at 7.3.
I stand firm, in the minority, that I want nothing to do with tackling Carson after watching that drive.
Did you see the defensive backs making business decisions on the screen to Proctor?I stand firm, in the minority, that I want nothing to do with tackling Carson after watching that drive.
