Not necessarily, his circulation was maintained with CPR almost immediately. Hopefully the brain received enough oxygen to prevent that
I'm no expert, but I know of a few instances where people have had cardiac arrest, and due to quick responses by great people, they have made a full recovery.
I also know someone who had their heart stop at work. Unfortunately, they were surrounded by people who only knew to call 911, there was no AED, and was in a town that had a volunteer EMS. It took a long time for any first response, and almost an hour before they got to a hospital. They did not make it.
Thankfully, Demar's happened where it did, and the resources to save his life immediately were all there.
Maybe, but I think there is a better chance that he doesn't. It will take time, but he can make a full recovery.
We had these all over the office, but I'm not sure anyone was actually trained on how to use them
We had a cardiac arrest incident about 9 years back and thankfully had a retired army medic working for us who took control of the whole situation. It's really something to see someone stay calm in those situations when 95% of folks are in panic mode.
Isn't it? I was on the trail and came across a guy who went over the handlebars and wasn't all there. I was fumbling around trying to help the guy when a nurse jogged around the corner
It was amazing to see her size up the situation and give him aid.
I can't wait for him to wake up and see the overwhelming support for him, his family, and his foundation.

What does neurologically intact mean? Does that mean brain function appears normal?
Cheat sheet. Keep some in your office, maybe wallet, and in your car. I don’t practice it enough, and feel the pressure of the moment something could be lost.
EDIT: please take a CPR course, if needed, much better chance of saving a life.

I hate that this happened and it's a really terrible situation all around. Being said, it's incredibly fascinating following the developments and learning about medical advancements. I really wish him the best recovery and life ahead.
(Because of kids) I keep a first aid kit in all of our vehicles at all times and one in the house.
Printing this off and stuffing in there is easy and I should do that. Thanks.
