When is the next Iowa game? I'll be throwing my full support behind the Hawks for the remainder of this basketball season. There is no way I can cheer for ISU if Bubu is allowed to play.

Not sure I follow your line of thinking. ISU did whatever it could to keep Bubu off. Don't support the court if you will, but not supporting ISU because you feel that Bubu shouldn't be allowed to play?

(I do believe the court made the right decision. But even if I believed the opposite as you do, I would be cheering wildly for ISU because they tried to do everything to keep Bubu off the team)

This. It is more realistic to cheer against Iowa State because of how they treated Bubu. Either way the team shouldn't suffer because of stupid stuff the school does.

The other thing is did you do the same last year when Fred let him back in the team.

Re: Bubu back again

The Iowa Supreme Court just denied the immediate stay request. They will still review the case. This is far from over.

Re: Bubu back again

the ruling doesnt mean that bubu has to be on the team, only that they cant ban him. CFH could still not allow it, and its clear to me that he wants him on the team.

This is completely unrelated to ISU or Bubu but related to the subject matter but have you guys seen the Outside the Lines report about the Missouri football players? It was too depressing for me to read on a Friday so I stopped after the first couple of paragraphs.

That is a tragedy. I guess I am glad ISU is taking Sexual assault seriously even if they screwed this case up. I just think we would all be better served if they would let the judges do their jobs and not put leath in that kind of situation. ISU did their job by not sweeping it under the rug and tried a case be for an ALJ. Sexual assault is too charged for a university president to reasonably handle.

How did ISU not "let the judges do their jobs"?

That was totally screwed up. And lets be clear, even with what unreliability of the accuser it sure seems like what Bubu was involved in was a lot closer to that than a drunken hookup. Which, again, is why I'm amazed that the University screwed this up so much that Bubu looks less bad in all this than they do.

No missouri swept it under the rug and this Girl was violently gang raped and there are witnesses that have seen video evidence of that and yet the university has done nothing. At ISU the evidence suggests the charge was unfounded and the accuser fabricated evidence and provided knowingly false testimony about the incident and a judge heard ten hours of evidence and testimony before ruling it wasn't founded and the university acted anyway to make sure it wasn't sweeping anything under the rug.

It is possible you are right about that night but we do not have any evidence to suggest it and therefore we shouldnt.

I couldn't finish reading it. It's beyond disgusting.

I watched the video and read the story. This makes me sick.

Our country and our universities would benefit from a more principled moral leadership. Not that it had a direct bearing on this case, but morality in this country accelerated into an unforeseen death spiral in November 2008 and hit an entirely new gear in November 2012. Unfortunately, the current morally debased agenda in DC appears to have metastasized into a pathological cancer consuming the very fabric of our society destroying all that once made this a great nation.

Re: Bubu back again

So much conversation and arguing over a 4th string PG.
This type of comment is stupid. First off do we even have 4 PGs. Second off I think most people (the ones that think he will contribute) think this moves Kane to SG and Monte starts at PG while Bubu becomes backup PG.

I didn't mean to suggest they were, I worded that poorly. I was trying to say that with a politically charged issue like this and the politics of university president it is best to leave cases like this to a judge or a judicial panel. In other words let judges judge.

Then the process that allows the ALJ decision to be appealed to the University President should be changed.

I'd still like to know how and who appealed Bubu's ALJ decision.

Easy there, Pancho. Let's not bring national politics into this.

It is way more likely this was influenced by money (the success of the football program) or misogyny than morals of national politicians.
