You guys thinking he’s staying long term based on that clip with Snyder are really grasping at straws. You can deeply respect someone without having the desire to perfectly mimic their career.
If you listen closely in that video you hear CMC saying he’s firmly entrenched in Ames. Mostly because of the great drinking water

If Iowa fans could choose 1 of these options:
A) Matt Campbell leaves ISU and Iowa wins less than 6 games next year.
B) Matt Campbell stays at ISU and Iowa wins 10+ games next year.

The vast majority of them would choose option A.
Duh. Because they know full well there’s no way on God’s green earth that Iowa wins 10+ games next year.

I have no idea what CMC is going to do. I really hope he stays. He's a great representative for ISU.

Even if he goes, CMC has shown 1) you can win at ISU. 2) ISU isn't a "coaching grave yard"

So if he goes, I won't harbor any ill will. He's done a lot for ISU already.

If they want him, he gone. Some of you people are ******* delusional. NFL job close to home>college job especially ISU.

Campbell is an Ohio native and a heckuva leader. But the Browns would not be able to sell their fan base on that given their long term futility. As of today, Campbell is 18-18 as a P5 head coach and no NFL ties. A coach of an improving team that hasn't won anything yet, not even a conference title. It would be a WTF hire only slightly less than making Condoleeza Rice their head coach.

Now, if Urban Meyer ever leaves OSU, and there is some speculation he might, I'd be more worried. But even that would be a hard sell to their fan base unless ISU really improves a bunch more in the mean time.

If the browns want him he's gone. Just being realistic.

He would be going from the best fans in USA to worst. From motivated players to unionized millionaires. From 10 year job security to 10 month job security. He would be pulling a Hoiberg, but no one is going to ever admit to themself they aren't ready yet for the NFL. It's human nature to move up as fast as possible and let the chips fall where they may.
