I think it puts us at the first 3 seed. I just don't see us getting to a 2 seed based on how solid the resumes are for the first 7 or 8 teams. Not that we aren't as good as some of them, but the resumes are pretty solidly locked in.

Agree. Getting a 2 at this point would require no losses plus bad losses by teams above us, and we're running out of time for all that.

I think there's still a possibility of taking Kansas' 2 seed. If they lose to Oklahoma and in the tourney and we win out we could steal it from them. Especially if we beat them along the way. That's probably the only possible way we could get a 2 though.

But honestly I think getting Omaha is more important than seeding. If we get Omaha I think there's no way we don't go to the Sweet 16.

I agree. I do think there is an outside shot at the 2 line if we beat Kansas and OU/Baylor in the Big 12 tournament. That would give us a ridiculous 7 Top 25 wins which would be tied with Kentucky and KU for the nation's most.

The frustrating part is if we take care of business against South Carolina, Tech, and K-State, we would be firmly on the 2 line right now.

I was going to say, I'd assume any 7-footers that wound up playing for UC-Irvine would be of the slow oaf variety that Georges would love to go to work on.

There's really only one 2 seed left, and right now, Kansas is the front runner. For the 3 seeds, it's:

Maryland
Iowa State
Baylor
Utah
Oklahoma
Louisville

Compare the resumes. We're a solid three right now. People overestimate the amount of good teams in college basketball.

No perfect division to be in but the South looks like a great place to be. I could see an Elite 8 match-up with Duke. Okafor and Plumlee are big and athletic. What a game that would be.

Pretty much this. If we win @ TCU we should lock down a 3 seed barring a huge run by someone through a conference tournament.

There is no geographical advantage for any 1s or 2s in Houston and I think we have a decent shot at the final four via South region.
