Brackens

Baylor is a small private school in Waco, Texas with zero fanbase and not one winning record in the Big 12 before Briles.

Because Briles can identify talent and knows what he is doing, they are good.

All of this is true, but when your talent that you have to identify is state of Texas leftovers, then you are 10 times better off than what we have to work with in Iowa.

Briles got RGIII and it sparked their recruiting. They went 4-8 Briles and RGIII first year, 4-8 again and then a 7-6 in 2010. Not exactly tearing it up. The 2011 season, 10-3 third in Big 12, and RGIII Heisman made all the difference for a school like Baylor. ISU needs some sort of spark like that to break through and we don't have near the tradition or recruiting base that even a school like Baylor has.

But he made steady improvement.

And he is located in a state with the most D1 talent.
everyon expects ISU to get the best coaches and the best talent blah blah ignoring reality that we simply can't unless they are legacy or from Iowa.

No one on this planet expects ISU to get the best coaches and the best talent. Don't pretend that they do to make yourself feel like some sort of superior realist.

we're ISU.

Everyone knows that. We prove it nearly every weekend. Wanting better than what we currently have is crazy. CPR is very obviously the answer and we could never hope to do better.

Who would we get anyway?

1-8 is the reality.

All the pessimists on this board always try to make their point citing either a much more established program as their example or a lesser talented school in a very high talent location. Everyone keeps talking about what Briles is doing, well isu beat his team convincingly last year. What changed? We lost talent, they gained A LOT of talent. Many players isu would have to pay to come up here. I am just sick of people making terrible comparisons because they think the sky is falling

The sky is not falling.

But the football offices are filled with employees that are qualified not to be there. That should not be in year five.

if you include Rhoads in that, then we will agree to disagree. I think Mess, Bleil and maybe another offensive assistant should go. But I assume he will make that call at seasons end. I dont need to meltdown every week saying the same thing.

Still behind our coach, but some changes need to be made. The wife and I are not sure if we will buy football season tickets next year or men's basketball. Just really tired of losing at home, Rhoads is what we need he just needs help from some of the assistants.

Now that I'm sober again, I agree with this.

I have to believe that Rhoads isn't stupid... i just have to. He can see what we all see, and it's surely unacceptable to him. If he keeps Mess after this year, that changes my mind... but until he actually keeps him on staff after the WVU game i'm trusting that he knows what he is doing.

If he was going to fire Mess during the season it should have been done much earlier (i'm not saying he should or shouldn't have been fired). At this point in the season what difference does it make now? He's past that point where it could have possibly saved the season or whatever. We'd lose more capital in a coaching circle public relations sense canning him now than anything we could gain by promoting from within for the last three games.

He's going to ride it out and fire him after our last game. At least that is what I hope. I also hope he goes HARD after a proven OC or former OC from a BCS type school. His job depends on it so he'd be fool to take another flyer on an "up and comer" he hopes pans out. Then he just needs to stay out of the guys way.

You are not getting basketball tickets because you are tired of the football team losing at home?

we will buy one or the other, I just would like to see some victories at home as we all do. I wish I could buy both, but can't so we must choose football or basketball.

What is your donation level? I am wondering If I can upgrade after alot of you guys dont renew your season tickets!

Agree, but even an up-and-comer would be an improvement over Mess. I think almost everyone would agree Mess was not an up-and-comer and not a proven OC. We hired the wait staff to replace a misfit chef.

Our coach should have fired people before one of our bye weeks to get everyone's attention. Or after the bowl game debacle.

Curious, does ISU fball even practice? And if they do, what do they do during that time? Especially on offense.

Sick of excuses.

Our offense has been terrible since CPR got here. When do you people expect it to get better, and why?

Well if the team is horrible again next year you can scalp tickets for dirt cheap. Donate your money to the basketball program and get tickets. Thats guaranteed excitement every game. Even when we lose your still getting high paced basketball with tons of scoring and a fantastic atmosphere. Plus you can get clone cones.

He was proven.......proven to be mediocre-to-bad everywhere.
