Book recommendations?

I just finished the first book of the Kingkiller Chronicles, Name of the Wind, by Patrick Rothfuss. It is arguably the best fantasy novel I have ever read. I'm excited for the rest of the series.

Reading this now and enjoying it.

On the sci-fi side I enjoyed the Safehold series by David Weber and The Demon Cycle series by Peter V. Brett. For zombie stuff check out the The Remaining series by DJ Molles. For history, The War On Alcohol by Lisa McGirr was pretty enlightening. Had no idea that there were so many breweries back in the day.

I'm going to be flying a lot for work in the next couple of months and have run out of books to read and I am looking for recommendations. Here is a list of books I have read recently.

Modern Romance-Aziz Ansari
The Martian-Andy Weir
Dad is Fat-Jim Gaffigan
A song of ice and fire series
world war z

Game of Thrones series is excellent.
Isaac Asimov's Foundation trilogy is exceptional SciFi
Jo Nesbo or Henning Mankell books for Mystery.
Bourne series by Ludlum for thriller. Bourne Identity is the first.
Hamilton or any other Ron Chernow biography.

If you like economic and financial matters, Michael Lewis' books are tough to put down. The Big Short, Liar's Poker, Flash Boys, Panic... and so on.

Check out goodreads website. After you rate a handful of books you've read it will give you really good reccomendation almost like netlix does.
Sinks up with your kindle too.

There are a lot of good books listed already...but if you like classic books try Alexandre Dumas. His books are great reads. I'd start with The Three Musketeers and The Count of Monte Cristo. If you like those, there are plenty more (The Man in the Iron Mask, etc.).

The Count of Monte Cristo is brilliant. My all time favorite book. It's free or nearly free on Kindle. Three Muskateers is good as well.

If you like science fiction, other classics that are great reads are John Carter and The Island of Dr. Moreau. The Allan Quartermain books, the Captain Blood series, and The Mysterious Island are good reads if you like adventure stories.

All these were made into movies but the ******* departed significantly from the books.

didn't realize Flash Boys author is also The Big Short author. Both are ones I want to read.

If you want classic: David Copperfield, Two Years before the Mast, Huckleberry Finn
