As I sad earlier, you got a decent pickup but he is definitely a role player day 1. When I watched the highlights of him against the top teams in the ACC or even tourney teams, he doesn't look very athletic. Below are some of this box scores against tourney teams, I do agree he has time to develop but the college game today is not really about development.

We had Keshon Gilbert and Hasan Ward just last year, as athletic as anyone.
We were led to believe that by the constant references to him, and the fact that Iowa State was going to "spend big" in the portal.
I mean anyone can argue anything ha. Doesn't mean it's true. I want to point out I don't think these are bad players. I'm sure they will work hard, and give good minutes. I'd argue (
) we are about the same as we just were in the post. I'll even give you a slight increase..still not the big jump in skill & athleticism we all saw that we drastically needed down the stretch of the season. Not sure anyone can argue that at this point.If we get Cluff...this all goes away.
Looks like the staff is going back to a defense first team like the first two years. Going to be some low scoring games this upcoming season.
Just win, that's all I care about.

TJ's the coach and has shown a solid eye for portal talent. Would I love a Tugler or Roberts? Sure.

Haha I love the optimism, but Jackson was able to do everything I just watched in that highlight video. Now, if he can catch a pass then we're in business.
I think the problem is appearing to be this isn't for depth...these are what we're moving forward with. Cluff plus these guys? Yes sir. Just these guys? Meh.
If we get Cluff no one will be complaining about portal season. That’d be a splash commitment.
I thought we were looking for athleticism also? Does anyone believe that Cluff is athletic?
I mean anyone with eyes could see that we were getting cooked in the post offensively and defensively. Especially the last month or two of the season.
Match 30 seems a bit early to be making that conclusion

A guy who averaged 17 and 12 is proven contributor. If we’re signing a role player that’s where the athleticism need is.
I love the returning core. Knowing who we have returning, it’s apparent what we could really use to get to the goal of a team that can compete for a final 4: a slashing guard that can shoot, and bigs that give more than Jackson and Chat.
We got a guard that shot 42% at a lower level conference, that has no left hand, and turns it over a lot. The turnover part is especially concerning. If you look across college ball there are plenty of examples of glow-up guards that moved up to the power four, and in almost all cases they are low turnover guys. It speaks to decision making and skill.
We got two bigs - one undersized that'll play spot minutes, another that was signed to presumably replace Dishon’s minutes but adds almost nothing offensively.
I now see an offensively challenged team built from spare parts outside of Milan and Tamin. You need guards that can break down defenses. Rohde seems fine, but again he seems to be a 10 ppg guy that prefers to defer.
With the way we’re recruiting the portal, two things seem apparent:
1. we still have to moneyball and find value guys in the portal
2. we are hoping for a lot from Batemon and Toure.
I was hoping #1 wasn’t so glaringly true as what the results are showing.
