I hope this guy is as good defensively as BRE or the second coming of Homan. It appears he is very limited offensively. At least BRE shot over 60% and had some post moves.
Uh... source? He's visiting there today and supposed to be stopping in Ames again on his way back to Brookings after.
And out of nowhere (at least for me) TJ and Staff pull a monster out of the portal.
No. My concern is lack of athleticism with all these guys. Look at all these teams in elite 8 and see how athletic they are are from starters to bench players
He’s got 2 years of eligibility, correct?
Agree but Buchanan isn't a reach if the portal player rankings are accurate. #49 according to onOne. None of our other transfers have been as highly rated as Buchanan.

He averages 5 and 5. Not saying he won’t help but a monster??? Hope he does well for us
I'm not too worried about rankings. I think this is a decent pickup, but we need longer, more athletic, shot makers on this team. We still have long ways to go before next year, but I'm concerned where the baskets are going to come from
Agree. Gilbert and Jones were great offensive players. Somebody will have to really step up. Not sure I see that happening unless one of the freshman is an instant star.
I don't think he lacks athleticism (see highlights), but not sure he brings much to the table offensively...
Nothing against Buchanan but I’m curious if this is the type of player TJ is recruiting or just who we can afford. Watching these 2nd weekend games every team has players with bounce in the paint. Would love to grab a 6-9 6-10 dude with excellent athleticism even if offensively limited. (Ward)

I could be wrong, but it doesn't seem like we've blown out our budget for these 3 (no disrespect to them, they just don't appear to be in the most competitive tier in the portal), so I'm wondering if we're saving it for one big transfer (maybe a shooting guard)?
I liked what I saw from him too in the 3 games that I watched Virginia play
