Blake Buchanan commits

If the 1.5 is correct, I think that's a bad move for a 1 and done guy. I think TJ fell in love with him because of Hendo. And I don't blame him for that.

But it seems like it would be much better to pay 2 pretty decent guys the total of that amount that have 2 years eligibility left and then if they work out, pay them the top dollar to keep them their senior year.
Sorry that it's off topic, but what the hell happened to William Kyle this year? I'm pretty sure ISUs staff was highly interested, but he was terrible this year, and now is transferring again.

Agree. And somehow some services had him rated in the top 30 transfers.

I believe this guy is going to be an athletic force on the defensive end of the floor. He loves to play defense. In addition, the staff has high expectations for him on the offensive end of the floor. I want a guy that can dunk it without needing to put the ball on the floor as a means to get off the floor to dunk it. He could be a more athletic Big Rob Energy. We missed that kind of consistent buy in from our bigs this season. He knows TJ's system and expectations and he cannot wait to get to Ames. Count me in on this guy in a big way.

I agree and with JJ likely staying and drawing low post doubles he will be open for slick passes and dunks.

Dealt with injury this past season

Massive cojones on this guy

Hopefully he learned just to be big and go straight up in the last part of that game. No need to try to block shots and pick up fouls. Just be big and make the offensive player take tough shots.

Only saw the highlights but a couple of late plays it looked like he did a great job on SJ #24.

That was the first time seeing someone like that (who is REALLY good) so the game just takes a while sometimes.

He had a lot of trouble keeping Ejiofor off the glass and from getting to the rim. But he’s a tough guy to guard and is really active and is pretty skilled. It was almost like under 4 mins BB stopped worrying about picking up his 5th and did much better.

I think Buchanan is feeling more comfortable with each and every game. He's gonna be a solid center for us.

And while Pleta is rough around the edges, I'd say he's definitely ahead of schedule for a freshman. He played some very meaningful minutes tonight against some extremely talented opposition. He's got a great body for a freshman, although I think he's 20 years old.
