Did we whiff on Cluff? Is there a reliable source for this? I'm not finding anything online other than he's visiting Purdue this weekend and then ISU.
I hate it when people use "whiff" in recruiting. The decisions of 17-24 year old kids are out of the staff's control. They could present the best possible situation for a kid and they could still choose a different school for something as out of left field as better weather or to follow a girl. "Whiff" implies that the staff failed like a swing and a miss and it often is entirely out of their control.

I don't know jake about the game of basketball, other than in a most basic way.

I did watch Buchanan's and Mulder's highlights, though. To me, based on their foot speed and attack incentive around the rim, they seem to me to be very quick and aggressive.

As they work and develop in Ames - they know what they're getting into - I can see how their roles on the 2025-26 Cyclones could be important. Guarding the baseline and elsewhere (foot speed) and slamming home stuff that Jefferson and our guards initiate.

If I'm full of it, tell me. I can take it.
Your not full of it, maybe if it is sugar cinnamon coated Cheerios. That'd be OK.

Every year is going to be fun to watch and be a Cyclone.

I believe we play Purdue next year as part of a home and home series, so we can compare first hand.

Wahoo Wally
Really. Very interesting! The summer and fall will settle in and we will forget some of this, but Purdue will be a good test and game, the next 2 years.

Some truth to that for sure, but I think an important aspect is that our system requires that we look for proven commodities on defense who have some offensive skill and potential on that end. I don't think we're going to grab many players who are the opposite as one weak link will ruin our scheme, and we simply cannot afford the players who are proven commodities on both ends. This strategy makes all the sense in the world to me given our resources.
Our system is exciting under TJ. We know we are going to excel, maybe just not every game. I kind of like the apprehension and watching it play out.

He might get it together and over achieve. On any given year, can we get back to the sweet 16 or beyond?

I hope he destroys them.
It’s cucked on so many levels.
1. Knowing and caring about your “little brother’s” transfer targets
2. Celebrating when said target goes to a team in your own conference who has had success you can only dream of

It’ll never be me.

At least we increased the amount Purdue had to pay for him.
TJ's playing 4D chess. He never wanted Cluff. He's just inflating the market in order to ever-so-slowly cripple other teams' NIL budgets. Then he can swoop in and get who he really wants.
