Just as long as they aren't your starting PG and averaging 30 minutes, 1.3 points, 0 rebounds, 0.3 assists, 19 turnovers, and 27 personal fouls.

Agreed. That's more of an attrition factor than a recruiting factor. They're interconnected, but I think you know what I mean. Petey wasn't "recruited" to be our starting PG.

You are really a jerk, aren't you?

Just trying to be as ridiculous as all of the people are who are on here passing judgement on BG. Then again... this is what we have come to expect from the "GMAC lover" portion of the fan base.

Petey was recruited.

Then feel free to not celebrate when the team has success under BG (IF he gets the job) as well. We wouldn't hold the teams success over your head or anything. :jimlad:

I said he wouldn't care as much when we lost. I know myself well enough to know that I'll cheer for Iowa State despite who the coach is.

Hey, it the stats he just said are true, I agree with him.

Of course they aren't true.

Here are his career stats for both years:

29.1 minutes, 6.2 points, 2.9 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 1 steal per game. with also leading the team in hustle plays.

The more I think about this, the more I doubt the validity of the story. JP has shown that his coaching searches are very secretive. I also doubt he'd let it slip that we're looking to dump McD.

Why? The story leaked out when he let both Danny Mac and Wayne go.

We can also discuss a coach that hasn't upgraded this program in four years. It is clear that we aren't going anywhere with the current staff so it is a bigger deal to discuss potential hires than to focus on a team that is going nowhere. At least discussing potential hires gives some hope and optimism for the future.

This.

There hasn't been much excitement and potential good news to talk about for awhile now. For those that think Billy G would be a great hire, this is exciting news. I'm definitely pumped about the rumor, was talking about him with coworkers months ago and loved the idea of us hiring him.

I would only support a coaching change at this point for someone with a proven track record in a big conference, like BG has. If Pollard were to go out and fire McDermott then replace him with another up-and-comer from the mid-majors, then I say, "what's the point?"

Why did you leave out turnovers and fouls?

Tim Floyd and Larry Eustachy were both up-and-comers from mid majors who did excellent jobs here.

Not every mid-major coach is exactly the same. I do agree with you though about how exciting a hire BG would be.
