Big Ten Meltdowns

Dochterman is probably sweating bullets right now, correct?

What would The Athletic need him for if there's no Iowa football to cover this year?

He has already indicated that he'll be in Ames a lot this fall if no Iowa season. Again, let's all hope we play and they do not.

"Listen, Mr. Warren, my name is John Doe and I am the father of Jack Doe, who is Iowa's second-string long snapper. I really think you are missing the point here, the kids really want to play. Please let them play."

"Say no more. You've presented this in a way I had not ever contemplated and I am now moved to action. Thank you, kind sir. Thank you for showing me the error of my ways. The season shall resume as previously scheduled, and I will be sure to advise all members of the conference that your heroic actions have saved football"

The “mommy and daddy help us!” aspect of this Big Ten fiasco is ******* bizarre. Karen and Chad showing up to the Big Ten offices is weird as ****.

That letter they sent is one that you send when you have set the bridge on fire and just want to vent. Nice way to have the other side dig in their heals and tell you to f off.

It's bizarre, but it totally fits. It's slightly more nuanced than a toddler's temper tantrum. If people could just see how much they want to play, that will be enough to get football going again. These parents are going to travel hundreds of miles to scream "BUT WE WANT IT!!!!!!!!" at an empty building.

Who is the side that set the bridge on fire though? The Big 10 set the bridge on fire and the players, coaches, parents, fans, and ADs have been ranting about the Big 10 setting it on fire.

The bridge was there, just blocked by the office. The parents couldn't cross so they just decided to torch it. I would be upset if it was my kid, but you don't call out college presidents and league commissioners and expect them to not trench in harder.

Actually I think he covers us for The Athletic.

So he supposedly covers Iowa and ISU for The Athletic??

If so, he does a horses**t covering ISU. He's basically in IC 24/7 in the fall.... when does he cover us?

I'm curious as a cat and I even have a few friends who call me whiskers but I would really like to know whats going on in #55 and Frank Garza's heads right now.

I guess we will have to disagree. There was no coming back after they said they were cancelling. I actually started to think it might be possible with the silence but they set the bridge on fire with the commissioners statement yesterday.

If they don't play this year, then it's a total loss of a year for him. Will only lower his draft stock for next year most likely.

He should have went to Europe and made millions, but if he truly believes he can play in the NBA, then I guess he should chase his dream. He could have done that after playing in Europe though too.

Wow, seriously? Iowa Football Parents firmly reject the "lack of leadership" shown by the B1G?

Where is the letter from the Iowa Football Parents firmly calling out the institutionally racist program established under KKKirk Ferentz. What a sad POS group of people.

"B1G players, who have sacrificed so much, deserve better." Well, maybe except any black players at our school.

"Collectively, we DEMAND better of the B1G." But KKKirk, no worries bud, you are good.

Prouder every day to be a Cyclone and a decent human being. That fan base and program is disgusting.
