I have been playing with Mred's bracket generator. I do nto think that there is any way that we do not finish in the top 4. I think we have it locked up. First round bye!! Way to go ladies!!

Probably the hardest conference in any of the WBB and MBB conferences this year.... a great team like ISU, ranked in the top 15 might (shouldn't) fall into 5th place in the conference. I don't think they will ....
I hope the NCAAs are paired out enough that Big12 teams advance to the S16

What if you ended up with a 4 way tie at 10-6? (ISU, OU, TAMU, OSU)

ISU gets the top spot of those 4.

The south tie is broken first. All 3 teams would be 2-2 against each other. OU would be 6-4 against the division, A&M and OSU 5-5.

ISU then gets compared to OU, and wins based on head-to-head.

To win it all you have to beat the best anyway.

Yes and no. It's better to face "the best" in later rounds and not right away. "The Best" often get knocked off (see our painful encounter with Hampton). So you don't have to beat the best, you have to keep advancing....

Let's hope the Seeding Committee doesn't completely HOSE us like they did the Volleyball Team.
Seeding in the Big12 is entirely up to us -if we beat OSU we'll be the 2 seed and with an advance to the finals - we have an excellent argument for a three seed in the NCAA and that opens the door for the Kansas City Regional. First things first - we need to beat OSU - if we lose and OU wins out, we'll end up a the three seed in Big12 and likely a deserved 4/5 in the NCAA.

Did the VB committee hose the Big 12? Yes, but it also followed its rules (no matches within conf first or second round, and also seeded according to the college rankings out two weeks before selection day).

Both MBB and WBB committees have rules that state conference teams can not meet before regional finals (elite eight to final four), unless there are more than eight teams selected from a conference.

let's hope the ladies draw the big red from fusker land and that our cyclone ladies kick the fusker's butts.

That's EXACTLY what I said while driving to Cincinnati in 1999!

I have to agree. The reason no one has beaten UConn, is because everybody has it in their head they can't.

OU showed that UConn can be beat, and if UConn had played in the Big 12 this year, it might be a different story where they would never have a night off.

Personally, the key to beating Uconn is minimizing Charles without having to double team, and making UCONN work a full 30 seconds on defense.

Realistically, I think TN and Stanford can give them a run for their money, though I am not a fan of TN's this year. Summit may be my 2nd favorite coach, but she puts way to much value in size, and her 1/2 court offense needs help and they are really lacking at the point.

We have all seen that when the top 6 or 7 Big 12 teams are having an on night, there is no stopping them as well.

Geno himself has said that many teams they play have a defeated attitude and don't even bother to give them a fight.

I remember no one thought anyone could beat UConn 3 years ago, and Stanford stunned them in the final four.

Interesting as in this scenario ISU would have lost the head to head to the other 2 teams (already lost to TA&M and losing to OSU is the only way ISU drops to 10-6 and OSU climbs to 10-6).

I thought that there was still a miniscule chance that ISU could end up the 5 seed but I forgot about the order the tiebreakers are applied.
