Been attending the Big 12 tourney in KC for 25+ years (skipped Dallas and OKC). The vibe this year seems down for ISU fans. Ticket board seems awfully quiet.

What gives? Economy? No trust in our play?

Weather should be OK. Looks like rain will stay away.

LFG!!

If I had to guess it is probably because at the start of the season everyone expected ISU to earn a double bye so their travel plans were based on being ready for games in KC on Thursday.

Attended the last 5 or 6 years and when ISU does well, it’s one of my favorite long weekends of the year. Especially when the weather cooperates.

Usually don’t go down until Thursday but wanted to soak up and watch this team as much as possible so leaving Des Moines early tomorrow and will be down there for the game.

I think that might be true relative to the start of 2026.

But a little while back I found this thread with preseason predictions. A lot of people were predicting an NCAA tournament seed in the 4-7 range, so probably not expecting a double bye in the Big 12 tournament.

11:30 am tip just sucks man. As much as I want to, I’m not going to take the morning off work to go downtown unless I can find a really good deal.

I may just be speaking for myself but I think people are nervous about the first game, as losing would really be the only disaster outcome possible as far as NCAA seeding. I think there would be buzz for a Tech rematch, though as others have said the tip time for that still wouldn't be ideal for hype

It's just about perfect if everyone hits the bars tomorrow night and don't stop until game time Thursday...

Saving for St Louis or OKC next weekend.
This is the main reason. Having a program that expects NCAA appearances, with favorable seeding for “local” games, will hurt the Big 12 attendance.
