All this back & forth is pretty meaningless. There is not a person in the world who knows what college athletics is going to look like after the NCAA Constitutional Convention occurs and proposals are acted upon.

Conferences might have a bigger role, but possibly conferences won't exist.

I’m not comparing now. I’m establishing a criteria for comparison.

So let’s establish criteria now, and then compare later. That seems like a fair compromise.

Thank you for the productive question. I think you have to look at several factors: recruiting rankings, NFL draft picks, CFP appearances, national championships.

And then on top of those very quantifiable measures, there is unfortunately the eye test. If you don’t have big brands, you won’t be viewed as a power conference.

Brands change. Or are you still an AOL person?

Those AD’s aren’t stupid. Absolutely there will need to be a GOR if we expand.

I'm not so sure. Or maybe a shorter term GOR like 5 years. Of course those ADs WANT a longer term GOR but what if this is their option:

1. Make triple the amount of TV revenue that they currently do for only 3-5 years.

OR

2. Make their current amount but have more conference stability.

I don't think that's a slam dunk decision for #2.

What kind of drop in annual money are we talking with this new conference?

This is what I’m wondering as well. It has to be a significant drop, and puts the Big 12 at a big disadvantage. Less tv money split between more teams. An expanded Big 12 seems like worst case scenario.
