Because OU and TX are playing this year in the B12.
If OU goes 12-1, they're a playoff team.
It's pretty simple.
Right. That you ignore the intent is telling. Also, this is an acknowledgment there are currently five power conferences.

So. Assuming OU/TX leave after this year. How should any remaining conference be measured against the P4?

You mean “currently” with Texas and Oklahoma playing in the Big 12?
Same question for you. This is an acknowledgment that there are currently five power conferences.

Assuming OU/TX leave next year, how should any remaining conference be measured against the P4?

I think BYU, Cincy, UCF, and Houston makes the most sense.
It would he a hell of a bball conference.

If we need to expand 5, 10 years, Memphis and Boise are easy adds.
Man I could be wrong, but I think everybody needs to get off the Memphis train, don't know what they bring to the table at all. Low academic profile, one of the worst stadiums in fbs, low fan support

I'm not on a Memphis train.

Serious question, are you here just to make dumb comments and argue with people?
No. I’d like to know your thoughts on how a conference should be measured against the remaining P4 (whenever that happens).

You can continue to play semantic gotcha. But the more you do so, the more it becomes obvious you are simply avoiding the question.

I'm not playing semantics, I'm quoting your posts directly. You're now saying whenever that happens, when you previously said right now. You're literally moving goal posts.

I think you're just here to argue.

Im not arguing and I’m not moving the goal posts. We’re talking about comparing conferences, post OU/TX departure (but you already know that). You correctly pointed out they have not left yet. Ok fine.

How do we compare conferences when they leave?

What kind of drop in annual money are we talking with this new conference?

Yes, you're arguing, yes you're moving goalposts. That's why you said I'm correct.

I don't know why you care so much about comparing conferences but why not compare them after the realignment actually happens?

I don't know what you're going on about here. It's pretty simple but I'll explain it slow.

SEC will have Bama, UGA, Florida, UT, OU
B1G will have OSU, UM, and PSU
ACC will have Clemson, FSU, Miami
B12 will have KSU, ISU, and OSU
P12 will have USC, Oregon, Stanford

There are your power 5 with their Power 5 showcase teams. Not hard.

No. You were correct about the structure of my original question being poorly worded. Which is why I clarified and modified the question. You knew what I was asking, and intentionally ignored that intent because you don’t like the answer.

I’m not comparing now. I’m establishing a criteria for comparison.

So let’s establish criteria now, and then compare later. That seems like a fair compromise.

After they leave it is the SEC then everyone else.
