Best Athletic Shoe

Asics have been my go to, though I haven't run as much the past couple years. Lots of circuit training and walking. I was in kayano when I ran more and then my last 2 have been nimbus or cumulus when I didn't like the kayano version. Brooks ghost, glycerin, Ravenna all supposed to be good but didn't feel good on my foot. Definitely recommend a fitting and try a bunch on. Don't just walk but run jump side step pivot to see how they feel.

Are there actually people who buy new shoes just to mow in? It’s always been the last stop in my shoe rotation.
Oh I doubt it - I just wanted some white new balances to mow in to play into the stereotype. I would never wear them in regular non-mowing life, so I can't really justify buying them and wearing until mow ready. I could do that if they were $30 new though.

Depends on your foot/heal strike - HOKA or Saucony.

Here is a shot of what my podiatrist recommends for type shoes. I am in the stability area due to bad ankle. The Hokas and Saucony are the ones felt the most comfortable, but I am waiting to decide on which after my new custom orthotics get broken in first. I did get a pair of Chaco sandals. Probably the most comfortable pair of sandals or shoes I’ve ever had! I wear them all the time.

Any shoe recommendations for people with high arches and plantar fasciitis? (Looking for quality not cheap)

Depending on what you're doing (I'm not a runner, but I've dealt with PF for a few years now), I'd recommend Nike's React Milers. I had a pair of React Cruzr Ones, and they were great, but they're discontinued now and the pair I have doesn't help stave off my foot pain like it used to, so I made the switch to the Milers (I got last year's model on sale for like $50 through Nike). They've worked out really well thus far; my heels don't really hurt in the morning anymore, my foot just feels kind of stiff for maybe the first five minutes after I get out of bed. But like I said, I'm not a runner; these are just my every day shoes.
