I posted a little note about my yellow jacket bird feeder battle on Facebook. Started getting advice and I'm all "Seriously people, STFU, there's a thread on CF on this and that is where I go!"

I am waiting a couple days before I put the feeder back up. birds are a little confused. They keep flying up to the empty pole. Did put up some old feeders for them in the interim.

I see nobody mentioned what to do if you are stung. You, or get somebody else to do it, needs to urinate on the sting. Will sooth it and neutralize it.

Tough to do it yourself if you get it in the grundle.

It doesn't have nearly the "great story" power but a thick paste of baking soda and water coating the sting area(s) will reduce the pain, swelling and itching as it neutralizes the venom.
