The Waukee game is the only Ames High game I've been to, but if Doug McDermott is still coming off of the bench as 6th man...I'd be curious as to if his dad will be complaining to the head coach that his son should be starting, since Barnes missed a practice???
I dont think they have to fly commercial on an official visit. I think I remember Chris Leak being flown in by Florida on their private jet. But HB isnt allowed to take official visits yet. Duke isnt dumb enough to do a blaytent violation like this.
He's a junior, no official visits are allowed. If my recollection of NCAA rules is correct, any trips he takes this year are on his dime
Maybe they can get away with it for an unofficial visit, but charter flights were banned for official visits back in 04 or 05. I linked an older article, so maybe there have been some modifications since then.

The Duke-UNC game is the "Greatest Rivalry in College Basketball" (not my opinion), a matchup of two top ten teams. and any college basketball afficionado would relish the opportinity to sit courtside. Both schools are recruiting him, so I'm not going to read anything more into it than that.
Yikes, I hope that there is a lot more to that Kelm that what was showed in that video. We have enough goofy white kids on our team already. I did like that little #30 for the white team. He was money from the outside and looked powerfully built. Either way, I hope we get one of them.
According to a highly placed source, HB flew to Duke with a ticket purchased by his Mom, who also went. Taylor Greenfield, a soph Ballard girl's BB player who is being recruited by Duke (and ISU) was also scheduled to go. A well known ISU fan and donor also accompanied HB on this trip as he did on HB's trip to Lawrence. I don't think he believes HB has written the Cyclones off.
May I ask why an ISU fan/donor accompanied HB on these trips? Is it a friend/confidant? Of course, if you can't say I understand.
You know this? Isn't it for the better than having him commit, and then blowing up nationally only to renig and then take other visits anyway? Jake is just doing whats in the best interest of HB. I know you didn't call Jake a punk, or indicate any feelings about him, but the posters that hate on Jake over this really need to lay off.
First thought is it would be someone involved in the new practice facility... Someone who has an interest in HB and Ballard girls basketball...
Go back and read my posts in regards to Sullivan. I have been nothing but extremely positive about him.
All I know is that there is some ill feelings between the two. That's all I said
Taylor Greenfield is currently the second most-recruited player in Iowa (after HB); until she commits, it will be a circus. In addition to Duke and ISU, North Carolina, Stanford, Texas, and lots of other biggies are after her.
