I'm starting to hear more and more about a 2012 prospect that could be on Iowa State's basketball recruiting radar.

Georges Niang, a 6-foot-7, 230-pound forward out of The Tilton School in Methuen, Mass.

I don't have a ton of information on Naing yet, but I did read that he led his team with 26 points in the semi-finals, as they'll play for a league championship today at 3 p.m. I'll get more information on this kid to you when I can.

I am hoping Niang is just in case like some people said a fall back option if we don't get Dingle or Cook. I don't know anything about him though so I guess I'll wait and see.

lol wow you guys were quick to crucify the kid! maybe he is a fall back if we dont get daniel dingle, but sounds like a skilled kid who just needs some time in the weight room and some conditioning.

Wow. Calm down you guys. I was just trying to make sense of his evaluation. They made it sound like he can barely breathe out there playing basketball. So I think they ESPN guys are they harsh ones.

Weaknesses:
Niang's physical tools are far from ideal as he has a fairly soft body and limited conditioning. While he needs to tighten his frame and improve his conditioning, he may never be the type of player that can see more than 25 minutes in a college game. He plays almost exclusively under the rim during the course of the game, unless totally uncontested, is somewhat limited defensively, and rarely rebounds outside of his area.

Its not that easy. That's what blows my mind about those who wanted ISU to pass on Lucious. Maybe its just that they were too focused on his PPG, which wasn't his role at MSU.

I think he's more of a fall back for Dingle. Not sure Cook still fits our needs.
