I don’t know how you guys that use body wash have the time to do it between your exfoliations and your mani-pedis.
The time we save by not having to wait for a bar of soap to lather up allows for more worthwhile activities.
Those 1-2 seconds are a lifetime.
I used bar soap for my whole life and then last year I put in one of those shower gel dispensers(think hotel). I didn't really have a preference before but after using the gel I've noticed that it is so much easier to clean the shower/tub. I don't get that soap scum.
I use both, always dependent on what I feel like at that time. When I'm lazy I use bar soap. When I feel like a marathon shower and I'm in no hurry I use body wash/loofah. Sometimes I...get ready for it...rub the bar soap on the loofah and then use it. Works like a charm.
Haven't used a bar of soap in 20 yrs. Probably the reason I smell so horrible. Didn't realize anyone under 60ish still used them.
My reason also. Shower gel does not seem to generate as much soap scum as....well....soap.
Plus, I am under 50.

Shower gel. Maybe it was cheap soap or something but I never liked the weird feeling that soap left behind.

Body wash on my body, soap on my face.
During the summer I use whatever body wash is cheapest. During the winter I have to use old spice dry skin defense to keep from being ichy.

95% of the time bar soap. When maybe gonna get lucky, some smelly good vanilla body wash stuff.
I also take great pride in doing the Vulcan-Bar-soap-meld of the tiny sliver of the last bar onto the big new bar. My life has so little meaning.

Edit, also no loofah or wash cloth. I do use the wash cloth to shave before hand at the sink.
