Austin Alburtis

I'm excited to see Jake McDonough on the field this year. He struggled with sickness last year and lost a lot a weight. But man he is looking big this summer

Thanks, Austin a Loyal Son!

Keep in mind that he has graduated and would only receive one semester of scholarship past graduation. I assume that would mean he would have to pay his own way in the second semester.

No need to be a d#ck.

Sorry, but from reading other posts on this board, I thought that was how you were supposed to act.And why is this such a big deal? Nobody said squat when Schmeling did the same thing a few years back. Is it because he plays a position that is an area of concern for fans and it will ruin your viewing pleasure. I think the ones making a big deal of it have very selfish motives and couldn't care less about the kid and what he wants. that's just my opinion.

It looks like Alburtis was listed as a backup to Jake McDonough on the latest depth chart.

I know this has been established already but I spoke with a friend close to Alburtis and he is indeed headed back to Texas. Hate to see this kid go. Always a pleasure to talk to.

Re: When

I am saying that the well is not dry. Chris Lyle wasn't that great as a junior. And had a decent senior year. Frere was pretty decent and had a great senior year.

And I recognize that the guys we have coming back are all a year older and hopefully have improved. I actually think we will be just as good as last year on the DL. Because to be perfectly honest, we weren't all that great. And we really aren't any less deep than we were last year. We have serviceable personnel with no standouts.

Frere and Lyle were below average Big XII performers. Great guys, good to their mother's, fine young men, but replacing them with Nelson, Parker and McDonough (+ 55lbs vs 2009) IS a step UP. I stand by what I have said. This D line will be better this year than last. Also, R Fr Aaron Moore (DE) was scout team player of the year as of the end of 2009 - he should contribute, Rumplehamer returns and Neal is back. Roosevelt Maggitt wil contribute. Austin Alburtis, if he's really leaving, is a blow. But,even without him, the D line should make progress this year over last.
