Audi Crooks to Transfer

If the Big 12 is smart they make sure OSU doesn't play at ISU this coming season.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but I disagree vehemently - this is high drama and I hope ISU plays OSU three times in 2026-2027! It might supplant EIU as my most anticipated rivalry game this year - be even better if it’s meaningful! Audi will look great wearing Pistol Pete’s black cowboy hat!

The only way OSU comes to Hilton is if we play them as one of our doubles in 26-27. Since we played them twice in 25-26 and the second game was in Ames, the game in 26-27 will be in Stillwater.
Don’t think this is true as we played @ Cincinnati 2/5/25, @ Cincinnati 1/7/26 then hosted them a few weeks later. I believe your back and back forth logic isn’t true.

Nobody born in the last 40 years likely knows that the background sound includes cash registers and adding machines.

I guess coins still "clink" given the chance if anyone used them anymore! Still, those intro soundings are still awesome 50 years later.
If I recall, that’s all Allan Parsons isn’t it?

What is being reported for Oklahoma State WBB Top Players:

Heard - $2 Mil
McGill - $1.3 Mil
Crooks - $1.4 Mil

So those three are reportedly getting $4.7 Mil (plus whatever the rest of the team gets) - supposedly last year's UCLA team that won the title had a payroll of $5 Mil so that is in the ballpark for a top team.

Side note - I do think AC preference would have been to leave the Big 12 but her options were becoming limited so she decided to take the offer from OSU.

PS - You do not need to respond and say this is untrue - it is what the insiders are reporting.
That's a lot of money to not win a natty

I was thinking the same. The mens team also played @ houston in our second game against them in 23-24 and then got sent to houston for our only game against them in 24-25.

The fact that she committed to a team they will play in Hilton is….well, something. That won’t be pretty regardless of the outcome, and she chose it. Seems pretty myopic and/or naive on her part, but oh well. Hope the 1.4m contract is worth it, Audi.
It is absolutely worth it to her.

What are the program revue share totals at places like UConn, UCLA, LSU, Texas, and South Carolina?
IDK about the rest but Iowa WBB gets 10% of all rev share $$$ so I believe that's $2 million (but could be wrong about that as I just Googled how much Iowa gets in rev sharing and grabbed the number up top).

If she believes she can build her long-term brand around OSU (one year to do it) or the WNBA, then yeah it's a no-brainer. If she had stayed here for less money she would have had ISU related endorsements for the rest of her life, that's gone now as she has no brand value built around ISU any longer (Fareway, etc.)
Even CC22 has stopped doing campaigns in Iowa, I don't see this being a lucrative opportunity.

The crazy thing is I doubt Audi leaves Iowa State if the whole roster explosion doesn't happen. Or whatever happened to cause the roster explosion doesn't happen.
I agree. I don't think she wanted to leave, but was forced to because she didn't want a senior year where she had to carry a bunch of new underclasswomen. The $1.4 mil was a bonus.

If the Big 12 is smart they make sure OSU doesn't play at ISU this coming season.
If the Big 12 is smart they'll schedule a home and away. Just like the NCAA made sure to put Iowa and LSU in the same bracket in 2024...they want (and will get) the ratings. For $1.4 million, Audi can handle some heckling just fine.

I never cheered for Audi Crooks the basketball player, I cheered for Audi Crooks who represented Iowa State. There are a lot of other great kids and great stories at other schools who I don't care about either. So why is "fan" in quotes? She turned on ISU, no grievance to her for taking the money that was offered, but now she plays for an in conference opponent of the team I am a "fan" of, so yes, I no
longer cheer for her success because it would negatively impact ISU. So why wouldn't a "fan" turn on a player in that situation?

Nothing wrong with that! I still admire Audi's story, but its no longer "our" story. Cheer for players that are Loyal Sons, even those that are forced to move on, but still like us.

Not saying you specifically soccercy but there have been a lot of people on here saying the same things about Audi that we were ripping on Hok and other fans for saying about her in the past. She's an adult that gets paid handsomely so I'm sure she can handle it. I won't be cheering for her at Okie St either, but I hate how fan bases turn on former players so quickly. Just my two cents
