Audi Crooks to Transfer

She is #1 but how many teams are going to pay huge money for someone that can't defend and sometimes literally doesn't get down the court. It's 4v5 for parts of the game.
I would think that most coaches at the better programs would tell her she must defend and must get down the floor. I would also expect that they would have a plan to make her more effective at both. I don't think a coach will shy away from Audi unless she tells them she wont make an effort to improve on that end of the court. Some may not want to play the style required with her on the roster, but I think most will think they can coach her to be better.

That and then they will also demand that she has to have a long, hard summer & fall with the S&C & Nutrition Staff.

Seems incredibly sad and shortsighted that Iowa State didn’t.

Unless you tell me she’s got a great future as an engineer or something, maximizing her BB potential would probably mean the biggest payoff available to her future earnings.

She's the #1 ranked WBB player in the portal. I doubt her value is AI generated, she is going to get paid by someone.
If she played for Kansas the last three years and we still had a roster would you dish out top player in the portal money for her?

Honest question, what did she do to deserve her jersey hung? One-dimensional player who could score if she got the ball in the right position but that's about it. Pretty average to poor at everything else with little to no improvement in weaknesses in 3 years.
She quit on Iowa State. she doesnt deserve to have her jersey hung.

She's a big risk but seems like someone will take it. Trying to make her into an athletic player able to play D has a downside if she gives up some of that size that allowed her to just impose her will on almost anyone in the paint.

No because not only do we not have the kind of budget to pay her asking price but I also think her asking price is a bit inflated too. Someone is going to pay her I have no doubt about that, but her market is going to be pretty limited not only because of the asking price but whoever signs her will have to cater their offense around her and accept her defensive liability as well.

I did a quick search for 2027 mock WNBA drafts and was surprised to see they have her as a top 5 pick. She'll get a chance in the W I'm sure but it will be interesting to see if she has any longevity as they play a much faster and physical game at that level and the post players are much more athletic than she is so I don't know how she would be able to continue to not be able to defend 1 on 1 at that level.

There is an incredibly strong athlete under that extra weight. How many times did she win the shot in HS?

wouldn't that be a reason to chase the money, though?

If you know you have no shot at the WNBA, then hell yeah you set yourself up as good as possible now.

Still, even with that she was last to leave after everything fell apart. She had the perfect gig at ISU with everything revolving around her until it didn't anymore.

Reagan Beers went undrafted. Curious to see if she gets an invite to camp, but this makes me believe that Audi is just chasing the money for her senior year and likely doesn’t see a future in the WNBA.
Why I thought she would land at OU. Throw in Jenny having a long history with the state of Iowa.

Iowa state did between HS and college. They put her through some heavy work outs. Haven’t asked my source about it since, so I don’t know what happened after that period.

The first quote says it all…

This sounds good but we will see if it actually happens:

"Still, she knows what it will take to become an even better player before reaching the sport's highest level in the WNBA.

"I am working on developing more outside range and being more comfortable at the free-throw line," Crooks said. "I'm working on developing more defensively, developing a higher basketball IQ and understanding the style of play that the W has and how that's going to translate and the actions I need to take in order to get there."
