What I don't like that is on Jamie is the smoke that is constantly being blown up our asses. I am fine that we are terrible. But don't do this whole stupid storm crap and all these stupid videos. Just tell us it's going to take some time and go to work.
Are you ******* serious? Did you actually get excited by all the hype articles and CF'ers on here talking up the team? If you did then that's on you for being so naive.

Wasn't complaining about JP - just put in wrong thread. We don't have the facilities we have without him.

Pollard hiring Campbell, CPR or Chiz isn't a problem at all and for Chiz and Campbell it was a homerun hire at that time. What JP did for football in his time here is unprecedented.

He has 3 things in his tenure that I think actually damage my view of him as an AD.

1) Letting Cael Sanderson walk out the door.
2) Strengthening our ties with UNI in athletics to a point where a freaking FCS team is considered a rival to a Power Five FBS team (that is gross to say but true) This doesn't exist elsewhere... we are the only Power Five team where even our own fanbase considers ourselves and having a rivalry against an FCS team.
3) Sticking with deadbeat coaches in all sports longer than necessary.

Yup, we, as donors to Iowa State and taxpayers in Iowa, have subsidized the UNI athletic program to the point of having an FCS rival. JP did it as a money grab back in his early days when he wanted to ensure some extra gate receipts.

Well, the money lost in 2007, 2013, and now 2016 with the long term effects of losses to UNI have buried us a decade in the hole.

That's Campbell's staff on the videos. You all were praising him for that this week.

You can use this argument if Cambell is fired after a few years because of loses. Otherise, you cant use former coach's losing records to justify firing a coach after his first game
I never said I wanted Campbell fired. He inherited a terrible roster, which isn't his fault. But I do think JP should be held accountable for failed coaching hires he's directly responsible for. He's already at two. If Campbell doesn't work out, would you trust JP to someone who will win?

What more do you want JP to do? Fans were restless with Mac, so he hired one of the best coordinators in CFB, national assistant coach of the year that led a national championship defense and had ties to talent-rich areas. Then he gave that coach everything he wanted to help him be successful. But didn't work.

Hired promising assistant with ISU ties. Firey guy who the players would love. That staff had a young up-and-comer, genius OC and sage veteran DC. JP gave him all he could to help him win - indoor practice facility, football-only building, updated stadium.

When it was clear it wasn't going to work, he hired one of the best young coaches in CFB, a guy who was going to be a candidate for a few jobs. Then he basically had given that staff everything he can to help them get it turned around.

Again, what else do you want from JP? What AD has done it better?

I would like him to hire someone who can beat FCS schools. At the end of the day JP has hired 3 football coaches. The first two were failures. If the third doesn't work, then what? Let the guy with a record of failed coaching hires continue to be the decision maker?

We are a power 5 program, we have a rabid fan base, we have the facilities. This dumpster fire football program will get better under Campbell, and we will look at the UNI game as a warm-up, which it should be, instead of a possible win. I'll give him a pass on this, see how they react next week. Lose by 50, we are ******. Play them hard and lose, expected. Pull out a win, absolute ******* miracle on ice.

I'll blame JP, but not for this hire. Waaay too early to be calling campbell a failure or success.

I'll blame him for not firing Paul a year earlier, allowing the program to get that much farther into the hole before we could get someone to start digging out.

I'm guessing the coaches spent about as much time doing videos as you do making silly CF posts. Oh - I see now. They SHOULD spend less time videoing than you do making silly posts!

Are you a bring back CR guy who was lunchpail and no social media and didn't relate to kids or are you a bring back MAC guy who was so sincere and warm and made you want to run through a wall? Because they both ended up sucking.

Obligatory response from me... JP signed a contract that pretty much allows us to lose to one of the perennial top 5 or 10 FCS team in the country. AND we are paying them for that loss... We put out 500K for each of these visits, is the gate revenue that high to generate an ROI?? Really... we could pay anyone else about the same to come here. Our fans will show up first game of the year regardless. Or if it is going to be a loss just prostitute ourselves to one of the big dogs looking to get an easy win over a power five team to boost their play off resume. If we lost to anyone not named UNI there would be less of an uproar.

Drop the Iowa game to every other year. Take the UNI game in the off years.

A loss to UNI means nothing. It's all the other losses that get stacked up with the UNI losses that have meaning because that tells you your football foundation is crap. CMC has to move a lot of crap out of this program to rebuild.

I haven't followed cyclone FB for as long as many here, but I've followed it long enough to not get excited by expectations, hype, stadium and facility upgrades, recruiting classes, highly regarded athletic directors and university presidents, coachspeak, coach demeanor, mesmerizing advertising campaigns and coaching changes.

Winning is the only thing that gives me hope of winning again.

Loses to FCS teams tell me the foundation is crap. I don't need to dig any deeper.
