JFC. You rotters need to move on from this 0 rush yards thing. The last time he touched the field, Sama rushed for 275 yards. Any DC worth a ****, especially an interim one trying to get a full time gig is going to key in on him and game plan to stop it. Rewatch the game. Every time Sama was in, Memphis had 7-8 guys in the box. Hard to block 8 guys with 5. Now of course the OL was far from perfect and the defense was bad. But, Higgins had 215 receiving yards and Becht threw for 450. Had the defense not spotted Memphis 19 points before the offense found their pulse, it would have been a different story

Improvements like mean like making a bowl game 6 of 8 years? - the only two years he didn’t make it were his first year and the year we had to replace a ton of seasoned vets.

Or improvements like winning the only NY6 bowl game in school history?

Or do you mean improvements like finishing with a winning record in 6 of Campbell’s first 8 years? - something that’s next been done before in school history.

Or were you referring to improvements like playing in the big 12 championship game?

Or was the first first-round draft pick ISU has had in 50? years the type of improvement you were talking about?

Or how about the multiple draft picks ISU continues to put out year after year, that kind of improvement?

Or were you wanting to see a team who lost 5 starters and rostered a team full of freshman predicted to finish 10th in the big 12 and instead went on to finish tied for 4th in the conference after losing 2 out of 3 games to start the year and went on to finish the regular season 7-5, winning 6 conference games and will return 20 starters next year.

Which kind of improvement were you wanting to see?

- Clock management/pre-snap confusion/penalties
- Unprepared after long prep time
- Stubborn to a fault of being predictable

These are my main things that need fixing. All have been visible his entire tenure. That doesn’t take away from success he’s had. But when you preach precision, discipline, winning in the margins and those things continue to happen?

That’s what produces 7.5 win seasons when it feels like 9-10 are there for the taking.

I’m not even mad. His success and vision have raised the standard of the fan base.

I think if we have these results with Rhoads all heart/passion the fan base is far and happy. With Matt, it seems like there’s actually hope for that next next step. But it hasn’t happened.

Do you know who was getting roasted on twitter last night and today for poor clock management? Kalen Deboer, the coach who is 104-11 in his career and coaching for a national championship next week.

It’s almost like coaching and making decisions in split seconds on the fly can kind of be hard.

Maybe we find a coach that is technically good at all of the things you listed but if he can't recruit, can't retain players, and can't build the culture that Campbell has developed, maybe we would take a big step back. Do you want to risk falling out of the best football stretch in the history of Iowa State football because Campbell has weaknesses with his in-game coaching? Because I don't want to take that risk.

We all know Matt Campbell is not perfect and has flaws. But many of us are willing to overlook those and hope he can improve them rather than firing everyone and starting all over again.

FWIW, one of the biggest knocks on Deboer is his in game coaching as well. Not sure if you know who that is, but hes coaching in the national championship Monday night. In game coaching flaws can be overcome, just as CMC has done. Nobody is defending him. He struggles with in game coaching and time management, at times. Additionally, none of us are standing on his front porch with pitchforks as you are
