Some of you people (joefrog) need mental evaluations when it comes to handling losses by ISU.
As far as ISU not winning the Big 12...why not? Do you forget we were 8-1 just 3 years ago? And that was with Oklahoma and Texas in the league. Lets give our new Off. line coach more than 1 year to improve something. Can CMC improve in a number of areas? Sure. But some of you think that while he expects his players to be the best versions of themselves...he doesn't expect that from his coaches and himself?? That's asinine thinking. You bemoan Iowa State being a place thats impossible to sustain success...but then don't acknowledge Coach Campbell taking the Cyclones to 6 bowls in 8 years??? Give the guy some credit here for improving his teams as the season wears on almost every year. We had an extremely young team this year that got immeasurably valuable experience this year which should pay benefits not only next year but in the next few years.
With the new look Big 12 next year, who knows what to expect. Most of the programs seem to be on an even level playing field...and anyone of them could jump over the others with good play. I'm excited to see what they can do next year and everyone should support them and believe great things could happen next year.

If Heacock is really retiring, I don’t have a good feeling about things going forward if the next guy can’t replicate the defenses Heacock fields
Idk, i feel really good about the new offesive coaches. Defense was awful this year. Maybe personel issue. Disappointed how poorly the line played after they improve so much this year.

I guess we have gotten to a place where some of the fans expect much more. Funny thing is, they never had that opportunity until the guy they think is the loser got here.

I'm all for more, but don't be an idiot saying our coach / staff has lost it. On a down year, with a decent amount of adversity to start the year, we went to a bowl. Yeah we **** the bed in the bowl, but we went. I'm guessing you would have been even more upset if we would have had a losing season.

If you need continual guaranteed winning, there are easier teams to root for.

Do you really think Campbell is capable of winning the Big 12 championship? Or of even propelling ISU past mediocrity? And what is your factual basis for that belief?

Because we had the ball at the OU 33 yard line with 1:48 left in the Championship Game and only down 6 points. Then we went on to clobber Oregon in a NY6 game.

You must be really stupid or just the worst troll ever.

Based on some of the other statements he’s made on here, I’m going with really stupid

We only got as far as we did that season because we had NFL starter (and MVP candidate!) caliber players as skilled positions. Those players are long gone, and we probably won’t see talent like theirs again for a while.

And I’ll see your win against Oregon in the Fiesta Bowl and raise you a loss to G5 Memphis in the Liberty Bowl.

Some people will always find something to ***** about because they’re miserable people who will never be pleased.
No the worst are those that actually complain and denigrate our teams when we win even. There was one back a few posts about how the snow game against KSU really has an asterisk basically because of the weather. Or that COVID is the only reason we have a NY6 bowl and win.

But then when people give reasons or excuses to why we lose it’s just, “Tired of BS excuses just get better!”

Well if that’s not having your cake and eating it too. Excuse as to why we win because we aren’t any good. Or excuses as to why we lose are a losers mentality. Huh?

So you are telling me you might need some NFL caliber players to win a conference championship in football?

Wonder who recruited and developed those players...

No, but apparently we need NFL players to bail out this staff so we don’t have things like to zero rush yards against a bad Memphis defense and one of the worst OL in the country

The good teams generally have future NFL players on their rosters.

Georgia and Alabama each had 10 players drafted to the NFL last year. Georgia had 15 players the year before drafted.

Think of that. In a two year span Georgia had 25 players drafted. That is more than a complete football team. Apparently Kirby Smart needs NFL players to bail him out. Nick Saban too.

Two teams had questionable offensive series for their last possessions last night: Alabama & Texas
Think their coaches are known to be pretty good play callers & their players are rated highly across the board. I guess it's best to say those skills are just extremely damn difficult to master & Campbell & staff are still working on it.

Play calling is a skill, one ISU is still learning & working on, & as repeatedly said, we've had the best talent in this history of our program. This team should have some more, but jury is out on whether it will match the Lazard/Montgomery & Hall/Purdy teams. To me I believe we have some at our skill positions & just maybe on the DL (DO, then maybe TO). Past that, may be too young & too early to predict for other areas, but need massive improvement on the OL & rest of our D to have others there. It will be another Tampa-type progression where in their Junior season everything coalesces.
