Has the rot started to creep in?

Yep. Stand by it to.

At the time, he was on the fast track to getting fired.

Wasn't until the seat got warm, and he was publicly humiliated, did he change course, trust his offensive coordinator, and open up the offense.

Go ahead and pretend that didn't happen.

Campbell was going to Mt. Union this thing into the ground until the public ridicule and boos from the stands.

He still went back to his old ways in the Texas game.

Not to mention, he would have lost the KSU game giving Sama's carries to Norton and Sanders.
You clearly know nothing about football.

Food poisoning cost us Jaylin Noel and Gerry Vaughn. Two of our best players. And Rocco was sicker than a dog. Certainly not his usual game.

Bottom line is that you called for the firing of Campbell. The rot had set in. Get ahead of the inevitable demise. So NONE of this would be taking place now. We would have complete chaos. And your post tries to credit your criticisms as the reason for our turnaround. You are delusional. And a complete idiot.

Absolutely nothing was irrational at the time.

Until Campbell felt pressured, he was gonna coach like last year, to a 4 win season at best.

You people should be thanking people like me.
Hey Joefrog, just curious. What do you do for a living? Seriously.

Can you cite the resource of CMC feeling pressured and making changes?

Did you think the first play ISU ran vs. KSU was creative?

In the history of Iowa State football I don't know if I've ever seen something as beautifully executed as the pooch kickoff in the Fiesta Bowl. The ball went probably 40 yards and headed towards the sideline and had some wicked reverse spin on it that allowed us to recover it. IIRC it was in the second quarter. Absolutely perfectly executed and it took some practice to make sure our team could pull that off.

He's our greatest football coach of all time. In 8 years of being here, he's won Big 12 coach of the year three times and could receive votes this year. To think Matt Campbell didn't start coaching to win until after a drunk idiot said something stupid is laughable.
