Hopefully the Evansdale girls case has a similar outcome soon.

That would have been prime suspect #1 and can’t imagine it would have evaded police for 15 years.
My guess after watching tons of true crime is they had some DNA and finally got a hit somehow (genealogy, tip that led them to collect it from this woman, etc).
Hope the family gets the closure and answers they deserve.

I am really interested in hearing what lead to the arrest when they have the press conference tomorrow. This has been a cold case that seemed like it would never get solved and for this arrest to happen this many years later makes you wonder what domino had to fall to lead to this.
Out of respect to all involved we need to be careful with speculation until the facts of the case are revealed. I'm thankful that Ashley's family now is closer to having some closure to her death but at the same time it opens a painful wound too.
On radio nowI hope 5-0 or someone can at some point do a deep dive in to the steps that led up to the arrest. My guess is they found enough leads that led to a road of evidence to be able to arrest someone.
It's entirely possible they had some DNA samples that were too small to test at the time. The advances made in PCR since then have been huge. It's how they ended up charging a guy in the Yogurt Shop Murders from the 80's.Just has the feel of some kind of jilted lover type scenario, but it's odd that it would take 15 years to solve that. My guess is that they've suspected this woman for years but didn't have anything beyond motive. Either some new DNA evidence or her slipping up in some manner must have given them what they needed.

Why even have this presser if you say "we're not going to share any info"?
Victory lap I suppose. I'm guessing they don't want to jeopardize the case by releasing information that may tip her lawyers to something. Why even have this presser if you say "we're not going to share any info"?
