It’s def a good point. We can’t help what the quality of our opponents are. Our "best" win is against an average (so far) Big Ten team albeit on their home field which def counts for something. This team is VERY capable of being a top ten team. We just need to have some pedigree wins starting with WVU and UCF. If we win those (by any amount at WVU and convincingly against UCF) then hang on for an even better ride. The team has done what is expected so far with (as alarson pointed out) room for improvement. Thats the intriguing part about this team…if we were playing our best now and seeing some of these struggles I’d be worried. Instead there are lots of areas to see growth in (and we’ve def been seeing it happen) and if that happens…life gets really fun.

Who in the top 10-15 range has better wins without a loss?

Exactly! Any 2 win combo out of @WV, K-State, and @utah will be pretty dang strong metrics wise when you add in the Iowa game. That won't fix the ESPN eye test though....

Agreed.

But my point is more that we ARE a top 15 team right now. The results support this. Just because some of our own fans don’t think we are a top 15 team doesn’t make it so. We may not end up top 15. But right now? We are.

The rankings don't mean much until the official playoff rankings come out.

With that said, Iowa State needs to keep winning. One loss and it's likely curtains for any at large playoff chances.

Drake Troll (I mean Toll) is repping an ISU sweatshirt today. He is still a troll. He is preaching conference love and telling all the teams to support the top teams as that is best for the league (which is nice).

The SEC, B1G and prevalent Media, are like the Borg (Star Trek). They are powerful, persistent, heartless, and want absolute power. They devour entire planets (conferences), have nearly unlimited and growing resources.

The whole idea of teams, not from the P2, fighting and scratching so hard to make it to the CFP's, with outside chances of getting more than 2 teams in (ACC, B12) is really pretty absurd. The playing field is not level. The P2 will get 7-9 teams in most every year, and without having to try that hard either. Of course, the individual teams will try, but if one team from the conference (P2) doesn't make it, another 3-4 will. The overall money involved will abundantly flow to the P2. Every successive year, the struggle to stay relevant for all teams outside of the P2 will become harder.

We need the Federation (Congress? /other) to save the universe and Jean Luc Picard (Brett Yormark) to save Earth!
7 of 9 can devour me anytime!

Reading this, it sounds like Jeri Ryan's character, Seven of Nine, took about 2 hours to get ready to film, each day! Takes some patience!
"Although she wore extensive make-up for her first appearances, including an eye-piece that fell off when she smiled, her typical make-up regimen took around 45 minutes, with the attachment of the Borg appliance above her eye taking an additional 15 minutes. Her hairstyling usually took as long as that combined."

Eye test really doesn’t matter unless you’re talking an at large bid. Gotta win Saturday for that to still be in play. Otherwise it’s get to Dallas and win and then see how it goes.

Here's my prediction for the new AP poll.
I don't think the Top 10 changes much at all.

1. Texas
2. Oregon
3. Ohio State
4. Penn State
5. Georgia
6. Miami
7. Alabama
8. Clemson
9. Tennessee
10. Notre Dame
11. Iowa State
12. LSU
13. BYU
14. Texas A&M
15. Boise St
16. K-State
17. Indiana
18. Ole Miss
19. Pitt
20. Mizzou
21. Illinois
22. Michigan
23. SMU
24. Nebraska
25. Utah/Arizona State/Vanderbilt (3-way tie)

Hard to believe LSU moves up only 1 spot, but I think that's what happens.
