Meh, it's a snapshot. Doesn't mean they finish there. Just in relation to everyone that's where they sit. For what it's worth Vegas thinks we're that good.My point exactly. We aren’t playing at the level that deserves that ranking.

It's a relative ranking, most teams are working through things at this point in the season. Teams ranked ahead of us, for reference:My point exactly. We aren’t playing at the level that deserves that ranking.
It's not crazy just unlikely due to probabilities. For a 3 loss team to win would mean that a 3 lost team made it to the CCG and win. Thus only one team would have 2 losses our better make it.I agree and that’s what Bud Elliott was predicting what would happen. Teams starting to eat each other.
You still ISU/Utah, KSU/ISU, Utah/BYU. West Virgina hosts us and KSU these next two weeks which we all know is not an easy place to win at. They’ll get at least 1 of 2 of those games, imo.
I still think the CCG is two 7-2 or better but it’s not crazy to think a 3 loss team will win the league.
100% agree. No team with 3 losses as made the CCG with its current format (no divisions). It's not crazy just unlikely due to probabilities. For a 3 loss team to win would mean that a 3 lost team made it to the CCG and win. Thus only one team would have 2 losses our better make it.
I must be confusing it with the NFL then. In the NFL if any part of the body is past the line of scrimmage it's a flag. Thanks for the clarification.
We haven’t played well for a solid 4 quarters.
We've played bottom feeders of the conference.
if we can put a solid 4 quarters together against a good team (this weekend will be a good measuring stick) then lets start talking being ranked as a top 20 team.
I love being 5-0…but there is a lot to prove yet and the team is VERY capable of doing it.
The SEC, B1G and prevalent Media, are like the Borg (Star Trek). They are powerful, persistent, heartless, and want absolute power. They devour entire planets (conferences), have nearly unlimited and growing resources. But that's true of almost all teams. Is there a team in the 10-15 range that has played 5 or 6 games with 4 solid quarters each? Is there a team in that range that has played a better schedule (without a loss)? Not i5 n my opinion.
I think we have unrealistic ideas when it comes to things like this. We belong in the top 15 just as much as any other team.
So he will replace Leipold at KU then?Hugh Freeze is a scam artist.
That is certainly an analogy. The SEC, B1G and prevalent Media, are like the Borg (Star Trek). They are powerful, persistent, heartless, and want absolute power. They devour entire planets (conferences), have nearly unlimited and growing resources.
The whole idea of teams, not from the P2, fighting and scratching so hard to make it to the CFP's, with outside chances of getting more than 2 teams in (ACC, B12) is really pretty absurd. The playing field is not level. The P2 will get 7-9 teams in most every year, and without having to try that hard either. Of course, the individual teams will try, but if one team from the conference (P2) doesn't make it, another 3-4 will. The overall money involved will abundantly flow to the P2. Every successive year, the struggle to stay relevant for all teams outside of the P2 will become harder.
We need the Federation (Congress? /other) to save the universe and Jean Luc Picard (Brett Yormark) to save Earth!
I worked hard with this one. That is certainly an analogy.
FYI: Matt Campbell is 9-3.
Maybe there will be a market correction at some point which would be good for schools like ISU.According to published accounts, if Freeze, Napier, Riley and Pittman were fired on December 1, 2024, the combined buyouts would total $146 million.
Well said. But that's true of almost all teams. Is there a team in the 10-15 range that has played 5 or 6 games with 4 solid quarters each? Is there a team in that range that has played a better schedule (without a loss)? Not i5 n my opinion.

You must not have watched the rest of college football. Nobody is perfect and really no clearly dominate teams out there. 11 is warranted based on resume. Could be argued a few spots either war. Why should a 1 loss SEC that have no good wins be higher? Its fun but that’s all. IMO we are way overrated. Win next weekend and mid teens is def warranted.
I am guessing with those requirements very few opinions on here are valid. Because I doubt many of us have watched all of the top 25 teams.Well said.
I assume @accoustimac has watched all top 25 teams and is comparing us to them, as that would be the only way his analysis is valid.
It’s def a good point. We can’t help what the quality of our opponents are. Our "best" win is against an average (so far) Big Ten team albeit on their home field which def counts for something. This team is VERY capable of being a top ten team. We just need to have some pedigree wins starting with WVU and UCF. If we win those (by any amount at WVU and convincingly against UCF) then hang on for an even better ride. The team has done what is expected so far with (as alarson pointed out) room for improvement. Thats the intriguing part about this team…if we were playing our best now and seeing some of these struggles I’d be worried. Instead there are lots of areas to see growth in (and we’ve def been seeing it happen) and if that happens…life gets really fun.You are a good Cyclone fan so I am not trying to argue with you, but Big 12 Radio was saying it is a slight to our conference that we were not top 10. That is the other side of your argument.
