Anyone else like to Camp?

This time of year, the cabin fever really starts to set in, this year seems especially bad with all the snow...I go look at our Pop Up in the Garage at least a couple times a week just to get excited for better weather...

Anyone else like to camp? Been busy making reservations and planning trips. Our highlights this year will be Kansas City in Mid May, Destin FL area right after school gets out and Pomme De Terre State Park for 4th of July and several local camping weekends with friends.

Backyard with the granddaughter and RAGBRAI - that is enough for me.

Something about all those years in the Army 'going to the field' that gives you your fill of camping for a lifetime.

Ive been looking too. We are going to Southern Missouri for a little camping and trout fishing 6 weeks! Cant wait to get going.
 
I love camping. Being outside, sitting around a bonfire, drinking some beer, smoking a cigar. The last time I went to the Boundary Waters was a blast. Canoeing, camping, fishing, all alone in the wilderness is awesome. It was really weird not seeing another person in 7 days, besides the group I went with.
 
I love it.

Thinking about going to Ledges some weekend once it gets warm. Whats everyone's experience there? What is there to do?
 
We family camp at Ledges each fall, normal family activities, bike riding, hiking, wading in the water around the ledges

In college however, we regularly group camped there....Beer, Beer and more Beer. The good thing about the group camp is it was far enough away from the family campers that we didn't get too many complaints!
 
I've worked at a camp in western Montana for kids, teens, and young adults with cancer for the past two summers. Seeing kids who wouldn't have been able to do some of the things that we take for granted while they're out there really makes it worthwhile. Definitely makes me not care a bit about sleeping out under the stars on the actual "camp-out night" (campers normally stay in cabins that are pretty modern, really). Anyway, I'm looking forward to the summer so I can get out there again.

I can't wait.
 
Its tough to even dream about camping when the camper and boat are sorrounded by
4-6 foot snow drifts.

Great hiking. Also you can take canoe trips on the DSM River out of Boone from Seven Oaks. Really cheap.

Over all a nice park.

I've gone from tent camping as a kid all the way through a couple of pop-up campers with my son to now a motorhome. The motorhome is itching to hit the road as we didn't take it anywhere this winter. It's been a long winter! I haven't made any plans yet where we'll be going, but one trip will be Table Rock Lake to Nashville and back. Tailgating at the football games is a given.:yes:

Cant beat Table Rock! We will be nearby in a few weeks.
 
Friends got a teepee a few years ago from the same people that made them for Dances w/ Wolves, since then, camping has been a year round thing. The only thing that sucks is when the wind changes in the middle of the night and you wake up from inhaling smoke for an hour.
 
I am the only person in our family who likes to camp.

My idea of a good time would be canoe camping down the Mississippi, around Florida, and then back up the intercoastal waterway for a year.

But I love my wife and will not do it, probably. She is allergic to camping.
 
I'm a big fan of camping. Around Ames I used to like to go up to Soper's Mill near Gilbert on the Skunk River. Nice little campground. Myself, my dad and a few family friends used to go up to the Boundary Waters every year. That was some fun camping, and some great fishing.
