Anyone else like to Camp?

I am the only person in our family who likes to camp.

My idea of a good time would be canoe camping down the Mississippi, around Florida, and then back up the intercoastal waterway for a year.

But I love my wife and will not do it, probably. She is allergic to camping.

A couple times every summer, a big group of my friends gets together and canoes or tubes the Upper Iowa River around Kendallville and Bluffton (sort of between Cresco and Decorah). Usually we get hauled up river and float back to our campground. We've had some pretty epic trips down that river. Lots of booze + good friends + being outside in the most scenic part of Iowa = incredible. In case you're unaware of the landscape in that part of the world, here's a picture

We did the same thing, but our only problem was we did it around July 4th, and there were way too many drunk rednecks for my taste.

I recommend the Niobrara River in NE. My friends and I have made a tradition of meeting up there every year. Rent canoes and kayaks out of Valentine, NE from a company called Grahmn Outfitters.
