I don’t see any way Angelo makes his way to Ames, but Iowa has a little bit of an ISU 141-149 situation at 174-184 with Angelo, Arnold and Kennedy.

My only hint of getting Angelo is that if you watch that family and see them talk about one another is they're obviously very close. If iowa won't let AJ in and we pick him up....is blood thicker than water? I dunno...just spit balling and hoping it sticks

I do hope we get AJ. I think he'd be a hell of a training partner with Yonger. I think they could push each other to a national championship. AJ talks crazy but he's definitely genuine and I feel like since carr left the team needs someone to push them. We are never going to be Penn St. I'm ok if we have some edge and go out and punch the other team in the mouth (figuratively of course, unless Schwab runs on the mat again to grab a brick).
It could certainly go wrong and I may be eating crow later, but bring in a national champion contender in a weak weight.

I love this message board. One day everyone's a kid who deserves a second chance, the next their professional con artists for clasping hands at the end of a match.
I'm okay giving second chances, but he's had more than that! For me, it takes more than a season at CSUB to prove he's not going to be trouble. I wouldn't take the chance on him or his idiotic family. He can certainly act like he's a changed man and found God, but I'm not buying it. If he comes here and never does anything to make me roll my eyes, then I'll be the first to admit I was wrong.

...also, there were likely many more on this board that were praying for him to stick with Iowa so we could watch the demise. I was one of them. There are probably a few of us who have flipped their thinking now that there's a chance he could be here
I don’t want Anthony at all, but if bringing if it’s a package deal and we can get all 3, bring ‘em.
OMG...desperation mode! Talk about the laughingstock of college wrestling!

Unfortunately, for AJ, there are way more incidents that he was involved in outside of the charge that was dropped! It's a history that stems back to his high school days. It was not an isolated incident!

Did you expect him to act like a total douche bag when he's chasing BIG money? Of course he's going to be on his best behavior and put on a show. He's a con artist.
Maybe, but maybe he has changed. People with dark pasts do make sudden and complete reversals. Evidence suggests he may have changed. He deserves a chance and a short leash.

We certainly are a gullible, hypocritical bunch. Some people wanted Downey to stick around and are still mad at the Paulsons for being honorable…

I voted yes because **** it why not? If we bring him in and he shows his stripes, he'll just be another name on the list of athletes with questionable character who competed for Iowa State. Everybody has their minds made up about AJ anyways so why not see if he can prove them wrong? If he actually has turned a new leaf, wins a couple natties and helps the team win a trophy, nothing but positive press coming our way.

All the pearl clutching and talk of selling our soul is over the top. Ferrari has no doubt earned his reputation but maybe we should stop worrying about whether or not people think our **** stinks. The guy is easy to hate but everybody wants to see what he's going to do and say so why not lean into it. Having a WWE style heel winning matches and pissing people off in the process could be fun.

We brought Pat Downey in, lets bring in AJ. If it works, great. If not, well at least we tried

IMO if this blows up, maybe time to find a new staff
I can understand this direction.
Hold the staff accountable, if he/they don’t workout - clean the staff out.
See how serious they are.
