Getting creative with money and transfers is the ONLY way we stay relevant in wrestling. I've scoured wrestling message boards the last few days and Ferrari is the only transfer that gets talked about... I can count on one hand the number of times ISU got brought up in his destination. A 27th place finish is making us irrelevant. Adding an immediate title contender to the line up only helps us. Set some guidelines and parameters and hope the kid has matured some. And get ready to hoist trophy's

Watched his match against Iowa. Was the hand clench penalty legit?

I watched it in .25 speed, unless his hands y came together momentarily when he flipped his opponent it seemed like the ref called the penalty when he was touching his opponents hands.

I voted “yes”, but agree with this too. I don’t know Dresser personally, like some on this board, but I get the feeling he wants grinders who live and breathe wrestling. AJ, while he does have baggage, I believe fits the “grinder/live and breathe wrestling” mold.
Not to mention he’s going to make Herrera and bastida better at wrestling because he’s one stingy dude on defense and great on top.

Not only that, it brings more eyes to ISU wrestling. I bet with Ferrari in the lineup, the attendance would go up in duals. Whether you like him or not, he’s probably the biggest star in college wrestling right now.

It happened before he touched Buchanan's hand. They later showed a replay from a few seconds earlier where it was evident he locked his hands.

It happened just before where he was holding the opponents hand.

Amazing all the people that I’ve never seen on the wrestling board somehow have an opinion about AJ Ferrari.

Incredible, dude is a star.
This is an asinine take. He will be a representative of the university. The opinions are totally valid, wrestling fan or not.

That being said, I’ve closely followed ISU wrestling for 15 years. When it comes to AJF, I’ve seen enough to know I don’t want him anywhere near Ames. Do not care how good he is. Guy is a certified scumbag.

Once upon a time, this board CHEERED when he was briefly committed to the Hoks. Someone with more time on their hands should go back and pull posts from some of you guys who have 180’d on him.

See, this shows how little you know. That is before he has spent the last year being clean and well behaved on a team. Capping it off with a third place NCAA finish. When he was going to the hawks vs now are entirely different scenarios.

Showing good sportsmanship all weekend in Philly was important for AJ too. Again, still a risk to bring him in but one that seems worth it now

LOL don’t tell me what I do or don’t know, thanks.

Of course he was “well behaved”. He was at ******* nowheresville university competing in a dead conference. What other choice did he have?

Put him back on a big boy team competing against All Americans every dual and he will revert right back to his old self.

And the fact that you think less than a year is enough to actual change a person from being an utter POS into someone you want representing ISU is hilarious. He’s the same guy.

How's his relationships been with women over the last few years? That's the part that would make me the most weary about bringing him on campus. Otherwise idc if we take him, the wrestling antics don't really bother me.
